had trouble opening the room door, very helpful staff helped me get in
Noise in the morning (cars, trams)
Location and our room was clean and pleasantly presented. Good value for money
Difficult to navigate around with a pram. More off road parking.
There was no off road parking. Had to park our rental car on a busy road. The windows were falling apart. Wouldn't close or open properly, they rattled when we turned on the noisy as a bus aircon. Had to stuff a tissue in the window gap to stop the window from making extra noise. Ceilings had flaking paint. Beds were pretty gross and ripped particularly the kids bunk matresses, the bunks were really squeaky and would wake everyone when kids got up in the night for a wee. The family suite is NOT a family suite. The bedroom is the lounge and kitchen ( no couch or extra seating for relaxing.) no partitions or anything to make rooms seem separate. Only four chairs at the kitchen table (supposed to be a room for six people) if you like shoe boxes this place is for you. :(
The staff were very kind!
the room is a bit run down
Conveniently situated about 7 minutes walk from a shopping centre and tram. The room has a four-burner cook top and a microwave. It also has a good sized table. The bed is wide enough and comfortable. There is free open air car parking.
The fridge was too small. The two chairs kept nearly coming apart ( the seats would tend to slide out of their supports). On two occasions the staff didn't make the bed and on one of these, the room was not serviced until we complained mid-afternoon. One night, when we came back, the car park was full and we had to park over the road. The motel information in the room was out of date - new owners had taken over the motel.
The location is great as it's close to Melbourne uni and precisely why we selected it. The owners are conscientious and the facilities are more than adequate. Linda was especially concerned with our comfort.
It would have been great if room cleaning was available all day
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms with kitchentte where you can cook, close to shopping mall and supermarkets, parking under the building and if you want you can take a pleasant walk by the park to city centre (4,5km) or come back in the evening by foot as it's in a safe neighbourhood - everything great!
Nothing to complain about, would stay here again!
-Very dirty Carpets -The Safe deposit box, Telephone, Hair drier didn't work -No keys to the Balcony till the very last day -The Chinese manager/owners quite rude, and could be aggressive at times
Location suited our needs
With a young family, no bath available, heating was very poor, no electric blankets & no bedside lamps near children's room
we liked that it was quite central. The girl at the reception was excellent , so friendly and extremely willing to help.
sheets on the bed seemed not clean. the room should at least have a broom and a dust pan so we could at least keep it tidy.
Proximity to city
Noisy air conditioner Sheets need to be crisper
We enjoyed our stay at Econo Lodge and found it much better than the motel at Thornbury where we stayed when we visited our son last time. We'd be happy to come again.
Excellent location for catching public transport. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Good apartments for families with two rooms.
Kitchen would function better with a stove and a bigger fridge would be great! A couch in the room would be great! The room had a draught blowing in through the window where the air conditioner has been fitted. Gets very noisy at night due to the location of the apartments.
We liked the firm bed, the spacious shower, the self contained facilities as you had everything there!
How the bed was too close to the wall. No tea towel to dry dishes.
Great location, had what we needed
Ironing board needs replacement
Free parking space.
The boss is too business. You can use free wifi for just one person. If you want to use wifi for more, you have to pay. It's far from central about 50 minutes by walking if you don't have myki card.
Great location for Brunswick area. It's a fine hotel for what you pay. The staff were helpful and friendly. Bed fine, good to have a balcony for fresh air in the morning. If you just want somewhere to sleep for a night or two and not spend too much money its fine.
Shower pretty bad but does the job, stairwells filthy carpet. Our key card didn't work to our room, there was a trick to it, you had to slide it through quickly. The staff tried to fix the problem but no one seemed to know this about the card until quite a bit of fussing around. Worked in the end.
The room was comfortable and the bed was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we felt very secure.
Shower was raised and very hard to get in and out of. Would have been better if it was on the same level as the bathroom floor.
kitchenette, phone book, parking, close to tram and venue of wedding we attended
Well-equipped kitchen, includes microwave, fridge, toaster, etc. Good amount of storage space and extra bed if needed. Good shower with enough hot water (30 minutes), and clean bathroom.
WiFi included in our price was quite unreliable, connection kept dropping. Also 2Gb per day cap. General air of decay, musty smell, and air conditioning unit was old and in poor condition, but still working. Windows cannot be opened, and permanent "shutters" outsdie made room gloomy. Surly, unsmiling manager - very unusual in Melbourne!
Friendly girls on the desk. The room was nice and quite. I liked being on the second floor.
I found everything was good. No bad comments.
Staff very helpful. Convenient to tram. Plenty of parking.
There was a dead bug behind the bathroom door which was never removed after being there for 2 days.
Very noisy with no double glazing on the windows. If the windows were closed, it was stifling and the air conditioner was very old and very noisy. It was impossible to have a good night' sleep with the traffic noise. Although advertised as serviced apartments, servicing was very minimal indeed. The entire 5 days we were there the carpet was never vacuumed and the bins were not always emptied.
