The lounge area of the hotel was beautiful but unfortunately our room was not of the same standard. We felt it was a bit over priced for the room. The bed was very hard but the main thing that let the room down was the bathroom. When you turned the taps on in the shower it whistled very loudly the whole time it was on. The shower was done very cheaply. We were disappointed that the Bircher Museli had run out on our second morning due to a large group having breakfast. The kitchen should have been able to foresee this.

THE PUBLIC AREA WAS VERY WELL DONE. THE ROOM WE GOT 205 WAS APPALLING. IT WAS VERY SMALL WITH ONLY MINIMAL SPACE AROUND THE BED. THE WINDOW WAS DIRTY WITH COBWEBS ON THE WIRE AND IN ADDITION THE CATCH WAS BROKEN IT WOULD NOT CLOSE ALLOWING ROAD NOISE IN AND IT RATTLED ALL NIGHT. THE BATHROOM WAS TINY WITH ONLY A SHOWER NO BATH AND NO SOUND BARRIER BETWEEN BATHROOM AND BEDROOM. AT $290 IT WAS THE WORSE VALUE ROOM I HAVE EVER STAYED IN.

New Year's Eve Degustation dinner was excellent - every course was delisious, looked enticing and blending perfectly as a whole dinner. Restaurant and staff were friendly and professional. Room a bit too small - and without being alerted, room was not cleaned over 2 day stay......apparently needed to put sign on door....should have been advised upon check in.

The mineral spa was great and the massage was lovely. We had breakfast and lunch the food was exceptional I booked fro 2 nights in a villa spa unit (separate from the main building) I was quite disappointed. The bedroom was downstairs and it had a small tv on the side wall (we like to relax in front of a large tv) Also the bathroom was cold, it wasn't even winter. The bed was not comfortable. The matress was very hard and after the first night we went somewhere else. It cost me over $400 per night ,if I had stayed in the city I would have paid less for luxury. I wouldn't stay there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It was very peaceful and we felt relaxed after our 2-day stay. The hotel is close to the Hepburn Springs Mineral Reserve, although it has a mineral spring spa on site so you don't need to go elsewhere for pampering if you don't wish to. The dinner we had in the restaurant on Sunday evening was excellent (apart from having to pay extra for vegetables). A buffet breakfast was included in the tariff and on both mornings we had perfect poached eggs cooked to order. I feel that it was overpriced - we had a 2-night stay which cost us $660, including breakfast. I really don't feel that the quality of the room, which was quite small (to be expected in a hotel of this age, I'm sure) with a balcony, was worth what we paid for it. I also didn't care for the way "Tips" was added to the restaurant bill without any consultation. It was just added and presented to us - not the Australian way of doing things! Even cruise ships sailing from Australia don't add tips automatically any more - Australians don't like it!!

I loved the atmosphere and the natural beauty of the retreat. The buffet breakfast was beautiful. It was great to have an electric blanket because it was really cold! The spa in the room was lovely. The bed was a bit hard and lumpy.

The hotel is in a good location. Villas are very spacious and facilities (spa & restaurant) are nice. The cleaning staff didn't clean the room well while we stayed there and didn't replace any toiletries, had to call concierge to bring shampoo and bath gel. I don't think the hotel provides value for money, room and service pretty average for the price paid.

Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Loved the spa retreat, thoroughly enjoyed the massage, although pricey it was worth it. Would avoid the garden rooms during summertime. Not the fault of the hotel, but the cicadas were very noisy all night long. The manager was good to change us to the traditional hotel room, although smaller it was comfortable and quieter.
