- location is great (quiet at night, close to the tiny township, short drive to larger towns) - staff were very helpful and friendly - amenities were great - our room had a bunk bed for kids!
- we booked a single night. Next time we will stay for several days and use it as a base for the area - ground floor rooms at the back may have people park outside the door (pick a room further along)
Excellent breakfast and very pleasant dining area. Welcoming staff and very obliging at all times. very quiet, no traffic noise
no exhaust fan in ensuite made shaving a challenge with a fogged up mirror.
location was the best thing about my stay and waking up to the sound of waves.
Poor sound proofing between rooms, could hear my neighbor in the toilet and sarcasm of the manager.
The very warm greeting on arrival, the excellent information of the surrounding area, the easy walk to shops, restaurants. The value for money, the good bed very comfortable.
The constant noise of the fridge turning off and on all night, even with the fridge behind a closed cabinet, the noise was disturbing.
It was lovely spot and really friendly people that ran it's.Great Facilities but the only thing is it is not soundproof at all so i would imagine when its full it would be very very very nosy as westayed when very quiet but one night there was a young family and all u could hear were the kids crying and constantly running around .

Rooms small no wardrobe
Loaction was good Breakfast good
Double bed uncomfortable Shower on second morning had no hot water.
How friendly the staff were and very welcoming
Great friendly atmosphere with great aesthetic appeal
The room was comfortable if not a little old and rustic good for a family with young children as we had a two bedroom unit with the shared bathroom in between.
There was nothing much to really to dislike we are just used to a little better that's all.
That we stayed in the old part where my husband and his family stayed over 60 years ago. The breakfast. The coffee was especially good. The very friendly, interesting hosts.
That we couldn't stay a week.
It is a magnificent Baronial styled 1880s property in good location. Every facility that you need , clean & bright bathrooms, fresh rooms & really good period furniture in the general area rooms . Dining room is magnificent for that period & its coastal location. Friendly staff with really good breakfasts.
Cant fault this place , large , good , clean, fresh & bright & the perfect product for this area, very stylish. Represents great value for $ .
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Car parking is easy and off street. Breakfast although optional is fantastic
Lack of clothes storage and having space. We as 2 couples used the family room with a bathroom between i.e access from both rooms either side. Not a good arrangement. Wouldn't recommend this unless you are a small family unit.
Port Lonsdale very nice and it is close to beach
Facilities very old and expensive for what you get.
friendly staff & the breakfast was good lovely comfortable bed and the location was really good
the stairs were a bit of a challenge
Very friendly staff and they went out of their way to heat up some soup for weary travellers
All was good no dislikes
Arrangements for late arrival - welcoming to have personal message left at door. Delicious breakfast - good value for money.
Friendly staff, relaxed environment.
Room was small, awkward
nice place will go back town centre was close by thank you g p norrey
Staff really friendly, the place was very clean with all you need for an overnight stay plus extras depending on weather and taste
the bed was like a brick with sheets on it, the doona was polyester which does not suit a lot of people, wool is much better. The cooked breakfast was a bit expensive so we went to a local cafe.
We loved the old style atmosphere with modern facilities and a great backyard
Finding rubbish in the room
Proximity to beach & shops without being crammed in it.
Staff could have been more welcoming.
A great find, everyone should stay at least one night in this historical hotel with such charming character and ambience. Also an absolutely amazing dining room, a step back in time. Peter was so helpful and understanding when I made a mistake booking. Also love his sense of humour. We felt appreciated and welcome.
