We liked the area and so many places to see and go,also the tranquillity of the natural setting and privacy was appreciated. The continental breakfast was lovely. The owners were very respectful of our privacy.
We would have liked the TV bigger or up on the wall.
Facility's the owners
You had to cook your own breakfast
All the little extras like the muffins & cookies were great The breakfast supplies were excellent
The fact that we were in separate houses & had no contact with the owner after check in. We had to make our own breakfast.
When a business advertises free internet , then you get there and they say that they have no internet , even though they had just sent me an email , leaves a bad taste. I booked in because i needed net access for work , and the response i got was a shoulder shrug ...poor form indeed
Videos to watch and breakfast ready to go
Thin walls, can hear people above and beside us even the slightest sound. Water in shower suddenly going cold as someone above turns on their shower. Having to clean everything we use or face a charge.
We liked the fact that it had a balcony, the muffins and the cookies for when we arrived. The port was a nice touch, but done at most B&B's The bed was comfortable enough, and i liked the soft blanket, instead of a sheet..though, we hope it gets washed after every customer. the place seemed clean, and the surroundings were nice.
When you go stay at a B&B, you kind of want to be spoilt. you dont want to cook anything yourself, and definately not wash any dishes yourself.. you go away so you can get pampered.. The eggs that were left in the fridge were raw, maybe a note stating they were raw, wouldve been nice.. as we thought they were boild, and made a bit of a mess when we cracked it.. and there was a note stating if we didnt wash our own dishes, we would get charged $20.00 you would normally get that at the motel or hotel, but a B&B should be a place where customers come to get spoilt, and just relax....
The owners of Poppies did and do put their heart into the place it is obvious and it pays off. We enjoyed the private atmosphere the fact that we were not hassled but cared for. We will return for sure.
Great breakfast and facilities. Checking in & out were very efficient.
the lady was nice facilities ok it was good that there was a heater
-very dusty! the room was not aired out before we arrived and smelt like it hadn't been for weeks - was thoroughly disappointed with this as I suffer from allergies -you could hear everything from the room above! from 4am when they would wake up through the whole time we stayed in the room.
The lady showed us to our room n that was the last we saw of her.
That we had to do our own dishes
accommodation - clean and comfortable
No restaurant facilities close by if dinner required. We were directed to Maloolah and at 7pm the only thing open was a pizza takeaway of dubious quality. Not exactly what we had planned for our first night in QLD.
Very quiet and dark at night, great place to relax
Needed individual servings of coffee, sugar, juice etc larger opened containers may be contaminated by previous users
Location was great. Room was clean and contained all the essentials.
I liked the solitude and the service. The venue was very clean and enjoyable to stay in. I enjoyed sitting on the little front porch eating my marmalade (provided) toast for breakfast and listening to the kookaburras. I would stay again.
Home made breakfast and snacks, away from town.
Location not in ciew of the dam as led to believe
