Functional and a good location for what we needed.
Beds are very soft and standard room is small but fine for 1 night.t
Very close to the beach - the Spinal Clinic where I needed to be for treatment and close to a shopping centre and cinema. I had no worries with the location and it was easy to get to from the Airport.
We were next to the driveway of the underground car park and the noise of each car going over the loose man hole was enough to wake you up each time. Also the plumbing noises were very loud. On our last night a tap was running somewhere all night that kept us awake. The restaurant was closed whilst we were there which was the main reason we chose to stay there. Very disappointing as there was no common area to sit and relax, have a drink etc.
Hotel close to our function venue - that's about it.
Only 3 pay tv channels, all sport. No pay per movies. Booked a 1 bedroom apartment but all it was just a glass barricade around the bed which didn't go up to the ceiling. Couldn't access the car park because the card wouldn't work, got told it was my fault from the card being next to my phone even though we tried all the cards in our possessions. Not value for money.
Bed was comfortable
Room, though advertised as an executive apartment, was a small hotel room with a tiny kitchenette. Room was in poor condition (paint old and cracked, carpet worn, bathroom sink tap broken off). Website advertised beach views but turns out all that do have are privately owned and not rented out. Pre-paid for breakfast and restaurant was closed with no reason. Overall a 4/10 accommodation that should be much higher considering it's a Quest and in Brighton. Very disappointing.
Lovely location. The room was quiet, spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. We stayed for 2 weeks taking part in a sailing regatta at the Yacht Club opposite so very convenient. Very handy for the beach and Brighton Baths where you can swim safely. Near to Middle Brighton train station for quick access to the City. Garage parking was made available to us during our stay which was helpful.
We would have liked some more surface space in the kitchen area to prepare food. There was also only 2 of everything-crockery, utensils etc. It would be useful to have 4 of these items to save keep putting dishwasher on or washing up. Our air con didn't work for the first week and had to ask a couple of times to get it sorted but in the end it was fixed. The room keys were also an issue with us and other guests. The swipe card keeps resetting (even if you keep it away from your mobile) which means you cannot get into your room. Not a problem if reception is open, but in the evenings it is closed, and if you have no phone on you you are a bit stuck as you need to call a number for the concierge to come out.
The location is very good, in a quet area of Melbourne, close to the beach and with easy aceess. The rooms are comfortable and much bigger than average. The kitchenette is a definite plus, and is well thought out, although sparsely equipped.
Internet speed was terrible, barely useable at all, except for the most simple pages. The premises are well designed and comefortable, but carpets, paint etc are looking 'tired' and dirty, and require some refurbishment. Please be aware that the rooms are not serviced on Sundays and that this is not really a full service hotel, and that the reception does not operate 24/7.
The radio alarm going off at 6 am
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Front office staff helpful and friendly.
Restaurant service can be under expectation and lacking attention to detail.
Location was ok for our needs
Check out time too early Sofa bed uncomfortable Car parking should be included and not an extra $15 Charged extra fee for booking on line. No view of ocean even though it was on the beach
Location was great on the bay although the weather was not great still lovely walking down the pier.
morning reception Sue could have been a little friendlier, very business like, very official, :-)
Convenient location - just a short walk to the sea and the Brighton Baths Lovely quiet room Very clean room with crisp sheets Huge shower recess Has a kitchenette with dishwasher
Would have loved just a little bit more benchspace in the kitchenette
Dingy corridors Paying for car parking Too expensive only $30 less than 5 star Langham I stayed at night before and poles apart in quality
Location and facilities
Fire exit locations from upstairs rooms. Mirror above stairs, (likely fall hazard) if looking in mirror.
Great spot, minutes from beach and short walk to main shopping area. Staff are very helpful and diligent. Loved that we had our beds made for us! Enjoyed Quest from start to finish.
Sue at reception was amazing - very helpful Free wifi Free on street parking Location Quiet
Bar fridge dripped water all night (was reported to reception - no action)
Position to beach and Church St shops and train to MCG were all excellent.
The wind and cold weather.
Check was a bit of a hassle as they told me they did not have my booking; then proceeded to take the $50 security deposit AS WELL as me making full payment on arrival. Then I had no access to the WIFI due to them actually not checking me in properly!!
Cleanliness Ease of check-in
Surcharge for credit card use NOISE at night - of other guests and the noise of the roller door to the basement was really LOUD! Light from other guests - unable to block out as no light-blocking curtains available??!
Stairs close yo the bed
Location suited our purpose on the night.
Too many things to mention. Will be writing a letter to Quest Head Office outlining everything we weren't happy with.
I enjoyed my stay very much . However the toilet was dripping all night.
Reception staff were amazing and went out of their way to look after my elderly mother and myself during our 3 night stay.
Very helpful receptionist
Water tap came away in my hand! Lack of cupboard space Shampoo etc made in China Only one small square of soap
Location fantastic. Very quiet.
Couldn't get a meal or snack at the bar at 530pm. Had to get a packet of chips from machine.
Staff friendly and helpful and rooms spacious and very clean
