It was very clean; the bed was made each day which was nice. Our room (644) was very small; particularly the bathroom - it was VERY small. And there was no light over the suitcase area, which made it difficult to get things in and out of the suitcase. The TV was also small. I was disappointed that the room had no view; it simply backed onto a building. So would probably stay somewhere else next time.

It was in a good location we could walk most places or with a train station across the road it was great. The mattress was the hardest most uncomfortable thing we have ever tried to sleep on,we rang the desk at 3am and were given a roll away for the rest of the night and a new room was fouind the next day

Mainly it's location. It is just opposite to Flinders street railway station and walk in distance to many city attractions. The room size is very small. Hardly any sitting space. You cannot even watch the TV lying on the bed. No views from the rooms

Location on Flinders Street great, for access to station, De Graves St and Federation Square. Excellent rooms and facilities combining old features of Travellers Club such as wooden panels and large windows with modern decor in guest rooms in tasteful colours and minimalist style. Good bathroom and excellent shower. I have stayed here several times on both business and leisure trips and have always found staff on reception and concierge excellent and cleaning staff flexible and efficient. Have often received upgrades. I would return again.

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff. Overpriced - definitely not as luxurious as advertised. Rooms are very small. There is construction going on completely blocking the window views. Electrics were faulty.

Excellent location, able to get into room early in the day, all facilities available in room eg iron, plenty of linen Type of shower stall detracts from a relaxing shower as water flows over the floor

Great location - easy to walk everywhere. Shopped in the afternoon and then ventured to Southbank for dinner. Rooms were small but beautifully appointed. Only disappointment was that they closed the beautiful Heritage bar for a function and we didn't get to see or enjoy it. Would stay here again for short visits.

The staff was very helpful, responsive and well organised. I had a number of queries during my 7 days stay, which were always satisfied. They offered a plug converter as well as various phone chargers as soon as I arrived at the check in desk as my phone was out of battery. Location is very convenient for the city centre as well as the conference centre. Plenty of shops and restarants close by. Compared to other options in town, rate per night is good value for money. hotel is just in from of Fliders train station so rooms facing the front can be a little noisy. lower rate rooms (deluxe) have not been renovated, so are simple and a little worn out, albeit decent. wireless not great. It is free for 3 hours a day, but the signal in certain rooms is very poor, and they can only be used all in one go. In the 21st century for a hotel in a developed country, asking a fee to use the internet seems really unreasonable. Breakfast is 30 AUSD per person, which to me makes it really not worth it (however I did not tried it!).

Location and value for money Disappointing that the bar was "closed until further notice" according to the desk clerk. Despite this the lobby and lifts were full of advertising about the bar. This messed up our plans for an evening drink.

Easy access to the city shops and the restaurants along southbank. This was not our first stay there. The bar was closed and customers could use the restaurant and sit in the lounge rooms upstairs. But everyone had quite a bit of trouble discovering this. As they all seemed to be wandering around lost.

The new refurbished side of hotel was nice. Not a 4 star hotel. The old non refurbished rooms were is shocking condition - carpet was torn and dirty from wear and tear over the last 30 years or so. And the overall room was not 4 star. Make sure that you request the refurbished side because in both cases they call them the 'delux room'.

Especially liked the location in cbd and proximity to Rod Laver arena. Hotel was clean, of good value, helpful staff. Breakfast which was included in the price was very satisfying. No complaints and would recommend to friends.

Compact hotel, but have mixed atmosphere such as very traditional formality and modern facilities in bed room. Price is just right not so expensive not so cheep. It was excellent location to travel shuttle transfer to tennis match. It was excellent stay. Thank you Only not my favorite is color of carpet of corridor. It was old and not match the elegant hotel atmosphere. Some day you may need to consider to change.

It had a modern feel, well presented, very very clean, rooms were made up exceptionally well even my shoes were aligned vertically - and location - so close to everything. The only thing I didn't like was that when you were in the room you could hear people talking outside in the corridor. That's all, but everything else was great!

I loved the location of the hotel. It was perfect for us as we were attedning the Australian Open Tennis and there was a Tram Stop almost directly in front of the hotel where we could get free transfer to the tennis. It is across the roadfrom Flinders Street Station so that you can catch trains to anywhere in the metro area. It is a heritage building and some beautiful features. The staff were extremely helpful. The room was quite small to have twin beds but for the amount of time spent in the room, it was fine. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Melbourne. It is withinwalking distance of most things like Melbourne Park, mcg and Crown Casino. There was nothing that I did not like about this hotel.
