Most things, lives up to it's 'Grand' name.

No clock radio in room. Noise from staff outside room in mornings.

Breakfast area very crowded at peak times ...maybe a tour group there that day but duty manager genuinely tring to seat people and did so. dinner service a bit on the slow side but worth the wait for quality of food

Classy and clean, right next to Flinders station, close enough in the CBD that we could walk anywhere.

Bad mobile reception in the rooms. Had to swipe to use lift even when stairs were an option (this is just nit-picking)

Bed was very comfortable, valet parking convenient, lobby area lovely, pillow menu an added bonus. Great location with friendly staff and clean rooms.

Bathroom light comes on automatically when u get up in the middle of the night waking other person and blinding you, shower pressure terrible, bathroom small. Tv was broken in our room - very dark screen.

the staff are a credit to the hotel location to everything is a+

I loved the Historical aspect of the hotel. It is well kept for how old it is. Buffet breakfast was great and we were spoiled for choice. Great location with access to Flinders street, very close to the Yarra which was bonus as we love that area of Melbourne..

Room was a lot smaller and less luxurious than it was made to appear in booking, but still nice and clean :)

The room was very nice and comfortable. The staff were excellent and helpful.

It wasn't clear in the material in the room if the wi-fi hook up was free or you would be charged to use it. I had to ask staff to verify before we felt safe using our computer without being charged.

location is fantastic. Hotel is very well-kept (clean and tidy). Staffs are very prompt to questions and always ready to help

This is a great hotel and I would stay here every time and recommend it to anyone. Fantastic location, excellent facilities just the right size room for what is necessary.

We were woken at 8:00am (I know that isn't all that early but it was a public holiday) for the mini bar to be checked. We didn't have the "do not disturb" tag up but I wouldn't have thought we needed to at 8:00am. We checked out that same day so maybe it could have been checked later in the day. This is just one very minor issue in what was a great stay.

Interesting as is actually very old hotel even though extensively updated with respect to amenities. Extremely high ceilings. The restaurant served excellent food and our breakfast in bed wss yum. All staff were really nice.

Our room wasn't ready at after 6.30 pm BUT staff were helpful and we received complimentary drinks at the bar. We were running a tight schedule to have a meal and make it in time to a concert. Staff in restaurant were made aware of this. Service wasn't really quick which meant we had to bolt down the food. ....which is a pity because the crispy skin barramundi with Asian greens was excellent.

I spent a fair amount of time in the bar of an evening and the bar staff were outstanding in every manner. All staff members I had dealings with were very efficient and professional.

The scrambled eggs at breakfast seemed to be a bit glutenous as if they were beaten up tossed into a pan and oven cooked.
