Republic Apartments

My family of 4 chose Republic Apartments as we like to stay in apartments when we travel not only for somewhere to cook but also to have space. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which had a laundry too. The beds were very comfortable and clean. There was an airconditioner in the living area but nothing in the bedrooms so we left the doors and windows open until the cool air had filtered through and it was comfortable. Staff were very polite and helped straight away when we needed something. Parking and internet was included in the price. The views from the apartment were great and there is a great coffee shop downstairs as well as a Woolworths and newsagents right next door.

The pillows were a little too high.

We booked an Executive 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights.The apartment, balconies and toilet were dirty. There was urine on the ensuite toilet, a drink bottle and cigarette butt on the balcony and old drink spills on the balcony floor and glass fencing. There was a lot of mould and calcium buildup on the tile grouting in the showers. The walls were bare and dirty throughout. The bed in the master bedroom backed onto the glass sliding doors of a balcony - no headboard. We moved the bed away from the doors to close the window coverings. The curtains throughout were black sliding panels of material, that was like thick paper. The "airconditioning" was only a split-system in the loungeroom only. There was no soundproofing, and reversing trucks could be heard all night, delivering to shops below. We booked 2 nights, but stayed one. No worthy of 2 stars!!

Good location, very helpful staff,and a great upgrade 22nd floor great views lovely room extremly comfortable bed and fantastic gym,pool and spa.

It was walking distance to the city and where my son lives.

the room was very clean, the cleaners had left it perfect, little touches like the arrangments of the cutlery, clean new tea towels, and spotless bedrooms, reception staff very freindly and helpull, pool great spa was like having a workout brilliant, we all slept like babies

The cleanliness, spaciousness and the hotels proximity to the city centre featured high on my 'likes'. We also enjoyed the pool with its indoor/outdoor feel.

The bathroom didn't have an obvious fan, which was unfortunate, and the bedrooms could have done with better ventilation, as the air-conditioning located in the living area didn't really help the bedrooms much.

The Republic Apartments was ideal as it was in the centre making it a lot more convenient for shopping as the Woolworths Shopping Centre was less than a minutes walk away and most of the other nearby shopping centres were 10-15 minutes drive away. Also it has a pool, gym and spa which was good for exercise and relaxation. Staff were very friendly and helpful even suggesting ideas/attractions in the city.

I guess the only downside would be that the Bedrooms did not have air-con but that's not really important as the ceiling fans were more than ideal.

Price & location were good. Proximity of supermarket & easy access via car was great.

The rooms were only fair. Bedrooms are hot in summer & cold in winter. (Stayed there before) Cooking facilities are sub par (Both times in different apartments)

Facilities and layout very good . We requested a double room and twin room and this was granted. Staff very helpful.

The space was excellent and location brilliant. We only had 2 nights in the city so we needed to be close to the cbd. The fact that they offered free parking was a bug part of our decision to stay at those apartments over others we looked at.

The staff (Roger) was really nice and helpful. The security in the hotel was excellent. The room was great, had everything we needed. Was very clean and had good views. It was not far from the beach and shops.

Bedrooms very stuffy and difficult to sleep, noisy from traffic downstairs (we were on the 6th floor). King sized bed in second bedroom was difficult to get in and out of, probably queen size would have fitted the room better, very very stuffy and hot in bedrooms. Airconditioner leaked but management took care of that
