Traditional style hotel, the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Location was great for trams and in our case the Tennis Open. Would use the hotel again. The reception and domestic staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good restaurants in the vicinity. Nothing really

I'm sorry but we were very dissapointed with our stay the bathrooms left a bit to be desired a nice spruce up is needed and we sweltered through the night won't recommend to friends sorry The bathroom The room was stifling

Happy to stay at Richmond Hotel because of its convenient location at a reasonable price. All I need is a clean room with a bathroom and somewhere to park the car. The breakfast is a lovely bonus.

I loved the place in every way, staff we so friendly and nice.. I personally feel like I missed out on the hotel because I only went back to sleep and got out as soon as I woke up.. Only down point was that the toilets are shared. I didn't realize when I booked.. it wasn't a problem really because they were kept clean, it's just that I thought for a "hotel" the toilet would be in the room XD lolz!

Nice brekky. Tidy rooms. Very convenient to the city. The booking.com communication debacle. It caused me a lot of stress in the 24 hours prior, not knowing whether I had a place to stay at or not. I don't know where the fault lies, but communication definitely failed somewhere along the line and it caused major stress to me and my wife. the walls are a bit thin in the hotel. I heard another couple enjoying themselves and it made my wife a bit cautious. I felt the cost was a little high, but I'm used to traveling cheap and this is my foray into non-backpacker accomodation. Life is expensive, and I'm poor, so really in the scheme of things, the price was probably quite reasonable.

The cleanliness of the rooms, and the bathrooms were excellent. No matter the age or condition of the facilities they were all clean and tidy, including no dust on lamp shades and other small details that are usually missed by hotel cleaners. Full marks for cleanliness. Reception staff and cleaning staff were professional and helpful. Having a space to park the car was much appreciated. I didn't appreciate being woken up at 3am by intoxicated guests running up and down the corridor with no staff appearing and asking them to respect other guests, even though reception was manned 24 hours a day. The beds were hard and saggy and there was no - do not disturb - sign in the room, or a sign to ask staff not to worry about making up the room.

We were traveling to Melbourne for the first time (part of a bigger Australia trip) and needed a relatively inexpensive place to stay. For under $100 aus a night it fit the bill -- a place to sleep and bathe,and free breakfast. If we paid more, the small room might not have been so great. No sink in the room.

Liked the location and the price and room was very clean. The air con didn't work very well so we opened the windows. Also there was a bird that was extremely loud from 2am onwards. Wouldn't have cared if we could have shut the windows and the air con worked.

It was so close everything I had to do that day. My Granddaughter was married in the gardens just on wellington street and the reception was also close by. It was nice to be able to treavel back to Richmond hill in between the two. I said to my daughter who booked for us that I would reccommend Richmond Hill.

Quiet rooms at the rear; convenient for city via trams; lots of local restaurants. Make sure to get en-suite room. Excellent breakfast (continental style). Nice small lounge with tea/coffee for evenings No lift for heavy luggage movement.

We could not fault the hotel. In particular the staff were very friendly and helpful - don't let them go! Breakfast was great and our room, although small, was very comfortable clean and quiet. We appreciated having a window that opened and being able to leave our car in the carpark after we had booked out.
