Riverside Hotel South Bank  

The location. The decor, bed very comfortable.

Meals we had were mediocre.

Hotel has a perfect location just at the entrance of the center.

The beds were not really comfortable.

close to the river and city centre and near bus and train links,staff were excellent and room very clean

Close to the Convention Centre and the city is what we needed and for the price everything was excellent

Friendly reception staff, good value breakfast, close proximity to south bank and cultural centre. Handy to buses and west end

I like the location

The room was univiting and had cold atmosphere. The furnishings were average. The mattress was not comfortable and the room was self contained but not allowed to cook even though all pots, pans and utensils were available?

Pleasant surroundings, clean, comfortable room, friendly, efficient staff and fantastic meals. Will definitely visit again.

Apartments were comfortable & the hotel is within walking distance of South Bank, the Convention Centre, Museum etc

Having to use two lifts to get from the carpark to the 6th floor with all the luggage

Staff were incredibly helpful, polite and courteous, nothing was too much trouble

Walking distance to my conference at the Brisbane Convention Centre. The fact that someone phoned me after I left a note for housekeeping.

Tired looking - cane furniture etc needs a refurb. My colleague had similar room, but more modern furniture - it made a whole difference to the apartment - even though kitchen and bath were outdated, just this made it feel "fresh". Cigarette butt in the plates. First day room was serviced well, but my note, requesting plates to be washed due to the cigarette butt, was ignored. Second day it was cleaned and then staff phoned me to apologise - even though they asked if they could do anything, I think they should have just offered something in a goodwill gesture - discounted rate or just even a bottle of wine! The hotplates need a scrub bud around the stainless steel - they were filthy! In my house, this would take 5 mins to clean.

Towels were tissue thin. Definitely need to be replaced with new ones.

My friends booked the accommodation for me as a gift - and when I arrived at the accomodation they insisted on getting my friends signature for the credit card details - and as they weren't with me and were not home to receive documents to sign and return electronically, we were left waiting in the reception for ages to try resolve. The management were not very forthcoming with solutions to my friends who spoke to him (after insisting) to try resolve - and although this term was apparently in the T&C - who really reads them - this condition should have been in bold !! It is impossible to give a gift of accommodation with these terms - and really - this is 2013 !!! In the end, a friend whom I was travelling with had to pay with her credit card and my friends who booked had to reimburse her ... To add to this - no apologies or reparation was made by the staff or management AND - although clean and OK the room was very average and outdated - definitely not 4 star - they need to be re-rated. In short - very under average accommodation and very poor client service !!!

It wasn't as noisy as I had expected after reading other comments, so we were pleasantly surprised.

Great location being so close to the cultural centre and QPAC.

clean rooms quite during the night but a bit noisy in the early morning as its near the pauls milk factory but overall nice stay

bathroom quite dated shower doors loose and a bit of mould build up

join down middle of bed (2 singles pushed together?) jug, but no coffee/tea provided

I liked the breakfast and the fact I could get dinner at the hotel.

When I asked one staff member to book a cab for me, he told me I could do it myself!!! All the other staff had been very helful and rang for me.

Location to the convention centre.

Very, very noisy from traffic, road works, sounds inside the walls of plumbing, sounds from next room and the erratic water temperature in the shower.
