The place was very clean and not far from the beach or local shops.

There is a great lack of toilet and shower facilities for the amount of people the place can hold it took me 3 hours in the morning to eventually get in one of the 2 bathrooms!!!

The location.....and the people I met

I did not get sheets for my bed until very late...after about three phone calls......other people in my dorm...who did not complain...did not get any. The second day..none of the used sheets and towels ( from people who had left) were taken away. The room was stuffy and after having six people in it..over a very hot day was very smelly.

There appeared a lot of Quakkas on the lawn at night which was a surprise. The kitchen was quite good and there was a proper heater at the common area. The room was not full and I arrived early. Yet I could not understand why they assigned the upper bunk bed to me. It turns out two lower bunk beds were not occupied throughout the night. Not a smart arrangement. There was no locker in the room!

Nobody told me that I could checked in my luggage and had it carried all the way to the hostel. There was absolutely no staff in the hostel premise except those you find near the jetty. The staff told me it was not far from the jetty to the hostel but it was a hell of a walk. Thank God two young tourists recommended me to get a bike first.

It posisiton meant it was easy to access buses and therfore see the island. It also gave value for money.

Nothing really. The kitchen was in excellent clean condition. The bed was quite comfortable. But it may have been an idea to have another bathroom...or at least to have the toilet separate.

Great location, 'away enough' from the Settlement to feel quietness and beauty of nature, but close enough to use shops, etc. (walking distance to the Settlement, also free shuttle service all day). Rooms and facilities are clean. Great beach, great views, fairly low price compare to other accomodation on Rottnest. I did not see any of hotel staff during my stay.

In the block of rooms where I stayed, was only one toilet combined with the shower, it was not enough, even though it was not many people staying at the hostel at the time. There where tiolets and showers in the opposite blocks quite far across the yard. They were clean, but had absolutely no shelves/ racks inside of the shower to put soap, shampoo, etc. There was no any table or storage facilities inside of my room, only coin operated lockers outside.

The location.

No staff on site; you have to go to the visitors' centre to collect the key. Not very secure: our bags were just dumped outside the hostel where anyone could have taken them and there are are no lockers inside the dorms.

The price.

The bed was comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The hostel was within easy cycling distance of the Settlement. There was no one else sharing my dorm so it was quiet and relaxed.

The fact that you could not have any alcohol on the premises. I bought one can of beer to drink with my evening meal and was unable to sit and drink this with my food. I understand that the hostel doesn't want lots of young people drinking at the accommodation but if there were staff around this could be monitored. None of the beds had been changed in my room, from the previous visitors.
