Royal Exhibition Hotel  

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels every day and bed linen. Extremely handy to Central Station, 24 hour convenience stores, restaurants.

It became a little noisy around 10am - 2pm when the rooms were cleaned. Beds need to have more pillows for example, there was only 1 pillow per guest and same with towels.

Large clean room. Ensuite bathroom. Location, location, location (across the street from exit 6 of the central station!) Private 24hr entrance. 5 minute walk from the (free!) busline 555 to George Street and Circular Quay

Hotel reception is at the bar of the pub below between the betting cashier and the draught (minor annoyance).

It's just a great basic hotel in the city that's great value for money - plus I got a room upgrade for free

Apparently there was some stuff up where staff didn't enter my details in the computer so I got charged a no show fee, I had no idea didn't affect me, but was some drama back at the hotel sorting it out. The penalty fee got reimbursed. But didn't really need to know about it beyond it being explained. Management were critical of staff which never a good look.

The staff . . . the room . . . the bathroom. The food . . . the wine. It was quiet and near the train station.

The elevator didn't seem to work when departing May 1 (early)

Extreme good value for money being right in centre of town, close to Central. Double glazed windows shut out noise underneath. Clean and spacious room. Very friendly and cooperative staff.

Pub over road which caused sleeplessness.

Location and the staff

The shower recess was filthy with grime around the base of the shower and I wouldn't risk using the shower, preferred my own dirt which I could shower off when I got home. It was only for one day.

The staff were very friendly and particularly helpful. In this respect it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.Very strong customer service levels.

This was a one night "transit" stop in Sydney and as we arrived late evening and left early morning we don't have enough of an overall impression to comment but it did what we needed which was a hotel close to the railway station.

Everything. Staff were great. Beds very comfortable. Location great.

The location was great - right beside the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, let me check in early and gave advice on where to get coffee, go for runs, etc.

The one and only thing I didn't like was the poor lighting in the rooms.

The rooms had only air-conditioning and the reader up stairs was hot. The meals in the bistro were great and cheap

Walls was very thin. You can hear steps and talk from hallway.

Clean, convenient, comfortable hotel, right next to Central station, easy access to CBD, Cicular Quay etc. Good value food in the Bistro. Very good cafe for breakfast about a block away. Staff pleasant and helpful.
