It was all good thanks. We are very surprised and happy to get a complimentary upgrade of our room, which was very good for the public relations aspect of the hotel. Just a couple of practicalities could be improved on: 1. If you wanted to watch tv whilst sitting in a chair, you had to get a crick in your neck as the tv was mounted so high up on the wall, and couldn't be angled further downwards. One doesn't always want to lie on a bed to watch tv. 2. The microwave was high up above the fridge, and to add to it, the door which covered the microwave, opened outwards and downwards on a hinge, which made it impossible to use the microwave - it was just too inaccessible.

I liked the location, I initially booked for 4 nights then reduced two as the charges were slot higher on the Monday and Tuesday, given that this would be a quiet period for all hotels I was surprised at it being more expensive on the weekdays than the weekends, instead I reduced my booking to two nights and then stayed in melbourne docklands for 169 per night with a undercover parking space included. I didn't like the price on the weekdays I didn't like that u have to pay at check in rather than checkout I didn't like that they were too busy to take my luggage to my room, doesn't sound like a hotel to me! I didn't like that if u wanted your mini bar cleared out you had to pay $10. I think the pictures on the Internet are somewhat deceiving space wise, the room looks spacious in the photos but in person it's cramped. This is my 4th time staying at the rydges in Preston and I have never had a complaint before as I liked the location but too many things have changed and it seems like it's more about making money than providing good service at a reasonable price. For me to stay in the docklands for the same price as ridges in a spacious 2 br apartment makes bell city seem over priced

Location was good staff friendly modern and great gym I thought the rooms were very small compared to what is shown on booking.com felt like I was cheated of space. Should only pay for half a room as that is all we got.

Convenient access to tram. Easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff at the front desk. Housekeeping could do with more attention to the detail.

Spacious room with kitchenette facilities although the cutleries are not always as according for the no. Of guests in the room. Guest laundry is very convenient. The complimentary car parking helps especially when guests have to rent a car to move around as it is quite difficult to find a taxi around the area.

It started at check-in where I was required to the full stay up front on my credit card. The room was small, with hazaedous steps inside the room along with a mirror wall behind the bed that was cracked in several places. The gym and sauna was closed, the pool was closed and the location left you no alternative but to drive several kms for any activities. The staff were not very responsive, it took 40 minutes to get towels and soap for the room. I was disgusted with the hotel and instead of staying the planned 10 days, I left the hotel on the third day, I will be writing to the Rydges Corporation to advise them of this unacceptable facility.

The view is gorgeous, the staff are extremely kind and helpful. The location is great! It's a great place to stay! I would definitely stay there again! The pricing of the mini bar was a little too expensive.

Facilities were great, security were quick when an issue was present. The room cards continuously de-coded themselves, therefore having to continously go downstairs to get it re-coded and you would have to re- code every card you had each time one card stopped working. This is the only hotel I've stayed at that hold onto your deposit for up to 4 days after check out-I don't see why they cannot unauthorise it immediately like everywhere else.

Very comfortable and well-designed room It is out of the central city. Transport links are good, with tram, bus and train all not far away. A taxi to the airport was $37.

Comfortable room size and equipment, small kitchen inside, great view on the city, individual air-con panel, cafe downstairs so do not have to buy an expensive ($18) breakfast. Bathroom: too small bathroom, shower with a curtain only and with dirty silicone joints, too small washing basin, inadequate lighting so shaving difficult, no indication if the toilet was disinfected other: $200 bond upfront, additional fee for using credit card, if not using a credit card you need to pay up-front for the entire stay (and you haven't even seen the room yet)

Room was well equipt but we really only used the room to sleep, were out all days, evenings. Is a little hard to navigate around the many hall ways. Some staff were very un inviting (Kat in the Chill Bar) especially. I would reccommend to friends in the hope they received a more pleasant welcome from staff.
