Hotel staff were very friendly and I have nothing to complain about. Would definitely stay there again when going to melbourne
Bathroom too small
Stains on floor
Staff Room design
Tea but no milk Non smoking room smelled of smoke Neighbouring rooms very very noisy all night
Easy access to Melbourne Central by tram.
Nathan the Chauffeur went out of his way to help us get the moist out of our stay. We appreciated the effort the staff put in to helping our stay run smoothly
One staff member in the restaurant, a dark girl, did not want to be there. She had no smile and basically sneered at us (both the sat & sun). not impressed
The hotel was clean and comfort the staff were very friendly and helpfully the bar and waitress staff were very polite and courteous, The courteous bus is a big advantage dropping people of to the city on a daily bases overall 8 out 10
The only downside for my trip you had to pay to the use the internet it should be covered in the cost of your accomdation
The room in Rydges was fine and perfect size. The restaurant was 10/10 !
My problem is the 'disgusting attitude' of the Indian Guy who checked me in. For 40 years I have travelled on business and NEVER have once before been asked to pay in advance for my room. It looked terrible with customers with 'hoodies' frequenting the lobby - quite a worrying experience. After paying he then took me across the carpark to the Rygdes reception for my room - which was perfect - better than expected! My real problem (1st time guest) which I realised later - was I used the check in at "Sleep and Go" at the same address, which clearly accepts persons of 'dubious character' which is really worrying. AS MY BOOKING WAS WITH RYDGES, HE SHOULD HAVE CORRECTLY DIRECTED ME TO THE RYDGES RECEPTION IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! (I guessed he was getting a fee for my booking), but to have to pay on arrival for the first time in my life was frankly a shame on an otherwise perfect visit !!
Great room. Lovely decor. Staff helpful and friendly.
They did go over the top to make our stay better after a bad start.
No tea &coffee in the room after a very long day 430am start all i needed was to relax and have a tea or coffee not have to wait over ONE HOUR to have some body we are sorry about this.
The gym and sauna were well used by us and the buffet breakfast excellent. The rooms were comfortable and serviced daily. Our conference was in Preston and we have family near by, so the location for us was great. We will stay at Bell City Rydges in Preston again but if I was wanting to holiday in Melbourne I would have stayed closer to the CBD.
Location great for seeing friends. Staff very helpful for visit.
Mural on the wall a bit overpowering and too big for a smaller space.
The restaurant CHILL was fantastic, this hotel is around 40 minutes out of the cbd so having that was so handy
It was a fair drive out of town
Received a "pre check in email" asking for our preferences. When we arrived the young woman at the counter said they hadn't received it and that "we hadn't filled it out properly". When we said we'd received a confirmation email she said "that doesn't mean anything". In the email we'd expressed preference for city views. We got a noisy room (near the main Rd) and no city views. We also had originally asked for breakfast but weren't going to give them any more of our money at that stage. The room's "bathroom" is tiny; it seems to be an afterthought. We will not stay there again.
Cleanliness Restaurant Facilities & Staff very good Checking in staff very helpful
Staff lack of knowledge of Melbourne Very busy reception - long waits Distance from CBD a little too far Checking out - staff member not very personable. Room key not functioning after 2 days
Within walking distance to public transit ( one if the best in the world); options of tram or train to the city centre. $45 AUD cab ride to/from the airport MEL. Clean, modern, bright room. Excellent, helpful staff who assisted us with info of nearby grocery store, transit, etc. We had a kitchenette which was great for own food prep. A nearby pub is decently priced. A wonderful cafe is on site. Would stay again.
Nothing. However the very convenient and lovely restaurant on site is quieter pricey.
Buffet breakfast was excellent.
Room a little small, but comfy nonetheless.
Loved our room with 189degree views
Shower cubicle a bit tight
Staff, esp; Adele , very pleasant & helpful.Keep the good staff.
TV in the room wrongly attached, Not much facilities & entertainment, a long walk to & from the Station.
Good bed and room. Nice breakfast but expensive
Asked in advance for single beds, confirmed day before but on arrival not supplied and knew nothing of my confirmation. Unable to change or even supply roll out bed. Did give us complementary breakfast as sweetener!
I was disappointed with the housekeeping service. It was really bad.
The fact that there was an extremely excellent concierge / chauffeur by the name of Nathan Shires. He always made himself available with helpful advice and took us to the places we needed to get to always with a chatty personality.
The TV was too high to view comfortably. A couple of occasions we needed to chase up the housekeeping of our room.
Loved everything breakfast great
The studio apartments are generally spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are a little too small. The front desk staff were very helpful when we had problems with housekeeping and were keen to ensure we were properly recompensed.
The housekeeping staff managed to remove one of the pillowslips on one of our pillows and the next day they also took the pillow! Our pillows had different covers from theirs so there should not have been a problem. They also left the aircon on while the window was open - not good.
