The most comfortable bed ever!
It was very cozy and comfortable.
Location to water front.
Size of room. Very comfy beds. Location was good.
No microwave in kitchen. No bar lock on front door which allowed our young child to open door and escape outside.
size of room comfortable bed
Dated 80's furnishing & fittings - torn curtain, stained carpet, full length cracked tiles in bathroom, no bedside light, chipped mug, shower curtain missing hooks, very noisy bathroom fan. Not good value at $175.
a) booking information was misleading as it implied breakfast was included in the price however it wasn't until booking was confirmed that it was a separate "meal plan" b) fishy smell in room/fridge
The reception staff were lovely and helpful and the room was light and comfortable.
The male staff member in the restaurant was very rude. From the time I phoned down from our room to book a table he basically grunted as us. Spilt water on our table and simply left it; wanted us to order drinks yet hadn't bothered to show us a drinks list. The heater/air con in our room didn't work.
Lovely old building(s) - obviously the premier classy hotel of its heyday. Still has the charm and grandeur of yesteryear.
location was fine
no airconditioning, reception staff didn't have a clue what was going on
Size of room. Complained of substandard conditions and was granted 50% discount.
Very shabby, old furniture, kitchen and equipment of poor standard, heavily stained carpet, no outlook, Windows opened only small amount, no air-conditioning, no cotton blankets: it was summer.
The view we had was amazing and the swimming pool was nice and refreshing. The staff were lovely and very professional- well equipped with maps and what to do in Hobart.
We had an excellent stay although there was a wedding booked in which we were only told about on arrival. It was really loud all night and would have been good if we were at least offered another room to stay in or told upon making the booking. Other than that, a great stay.
Very comfortable bed with super soft pillows slept like a baby.
The decor of our so called Deluxe King room was extremely drab and dated and some what depressing.
Room was not clean, vent in bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned since original fit out, curtins were falling off rail, extra bed was not made up and mattress was ripped. Carpet was so dirty my childs feet were black and room caused severe allegies... was not a pleasant stay.
The old fashioned building gave the hotel a great cozy feel and the continental breakfast was amazing.
The room service didn't give us any toilet paper for three days, didn't change our bed sheets in a week and didnt vacum our floor for the entire time we stayed.
The view was great for New Years fireworks. Bed was excellent. Restaurant had nice food and staff were really friendly. We were able to open our rear door and bring a few chairs out to sit with our neighbours to enjoy the New Years festivities.
The walk back up the hill from Hobart. The room was dated but overall was clean and comfortable.
Spacious suite with view
Kitchenette old, scuffed and generally beyond use-by date Tiling cracked and dated Bathroom also needed updating
The carpet was stained and needed to be steam cleaned. The bathroom floor did not appear to be cleaned. Towels were replaced on the 4th day only because I put the dirty ones in the floor. Mirror in bathroom stained. Mirror in living room smeared. Hair on the soap on the bench in the bathroom. A feeling of general uncleanliness. Would never stay there again.
Nice views of North Hobart oval, can make the walk to the city (~30 mins), free wifi seemed to work well.
- Glasses and crockery were dirty on arrival - only given 1 towel per person (makes drying long hair after showering difficult) - Walls a paper thin - can hear the room next door quietly talking, even sneezing! - Water pipes are so noisy, woke every morning to shower being used in the apartment next door, pipes were so loud! - Rooms are old and in desperate need of an update, smell old and musty too - mattress was comfortable but pillows were paper thin - no gym
Size of room, comfortable bed, location. Huge bathroom. Clean room, free WiFi.
Very dated interior, needs renovation, old fixtures and fittings.
Pool, breakfast, bed, location
Old unit. No bottle opener. No free drink with our ridges card, breakfast run out of everything, have always had better service when stayed, staff not so helpful this time :(
Bed was excellent, probably the most comfortable I've ever encountered in a motel, the old antique furnishings matched the building well and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were a disappointment for the value with numerous marks over the walls, the room we were in seems to have had a heater that may have fused out and they fitted a new unit in but only roughly cleaned the walls down around were the old 1 had been, carpets very ordinary & cleaning basic, great antique furnishing till you get to the $10 flat pack tv unit which was so low you couldn't relax in bed & watch as the tv could have been placed on the floor, tea & coffee supplies were woeful, sugar looks to have got wet from tea and thrown back in the basket, coffee was undrinkable and no decaf or sweetners provided. Some of these things may seem petty but when you pay top price for these rooms you expect some level of hygiene and value for your money. I hope all Rydges Motels aren't of this calibre.
Quiet location, excellant service, good view of city and river from our room. Clean, comfortable, room, seperation of kitchenette and lounge area.
Kitchenette has only microwave, no stove Comfortable beds, but too soft if one has a bad back.E
The spaciousness of the unit and the view. Adequate car parking facilities.
The fact that we mostly had to wait until +/- 1.00-2.00pm to have our room serviced. The first couple of days the beds only had the covers pulled up, not sheets straightened. However, when Jo and Shirley did the rooms they were done perfectly.
