The only thing I liked was the view from the room it was very good.
Room in poor condition. Not updated for about 30 years. Bathroom shower mouldy and covered in soap scum obviously not cleaned in many months, if not longer. Basin taps had mould around the bases and the plug hole had mould around it too. Exhaust vent in ceiling covered in dust. Kitchen exhaust fan also covered in cobwebs and dust, neither cleaned in years by the look of them. I have photos.
Great location. Room was clean, Free wi-fi
Very quiet, the building itself, nice view
Loved the building and the space offered both in our room and in the car park! Bed was comfortable. Food was fantastic. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Don't think the cleaner is doing as good a job as should be done. Bathroom fan was clogged with residue and dust. When looking for a pen that I dropped on the bedroom floor, I found discarded drink bottles and tissues under the bed!! Yuk
Steps and the door rattled in the wind all night. Not happy.
Location and heating.
Hard mattress with hard pillows. Bathroom had grime and mildue around taps and tiles. No Internet for Mac computer even though I was told there should be a cable to connect in the room. Cracked paint on roof, stains on carpet and ripped up carpet and power points dismantled. The whole room smelt stale as if noone had stayed there for a long time. Dust everywhere especially in the kitchen.
Not far from the city, pleasant and efficient staff on booking in.Food was well presented, good quality and value for money.
Restaurant was very sparse and lacked any ambience.Room was very cold on arrival. No wi fi in room despite being advertised.Restaurant was cold and we were placed by a window with no curtains twice.
No hot water in the morning, very loud plumbing from room above ours. Staff not overally helpful
Liked the location and how easy it was to find. Loved the old building
The decor in our room was pretty out dated and we stayed out of the main building which kind of made it feel disconnected from the history of the hotel
The room was very spacious, the location was great. We enjoyed a nice view of Hobart.
I thought the charging of $4.00 to deliver room service meals was absurd. The price of the food which if you compare to other food outlets was higher than normal. The additional $4 to walk the food over from the kitchen to deliver is a rip off. Really does this charge need to be added, when guests are spending money to stay as well as making a choice to eat at the Rydges?
Although there entire room key system was broken down they made every effort to minimise the disruption.
Old facilities with torn curtains literally hanging from the windows.
When we arrived at 6pm-the prior morning breakfast tray with dirty dishes was still at the door. When we had additional pillows delivered they still didn't remove tray. Would seem that it was another staff members job to do that? There were sweet wrappers and dirty tissues under the bed. The restaurant was beautiful and wait staff excellent. Enjoyed our time in the bar having dessert by the fire playing pool. Main building was beautiful. Thank you.
quiet as I requested
hot water for the shower its too weak and hotness is not consistent during the shower time xx at least after 10 sec started heating up very slowly and I took ages THEN it went all super hot it wouldn't cold down wven opening full cold water tap. The amount of water fir the shower regardless for hotness is just ridiculously low i have the same old system at home and it works 10 times better. disapointing and diaconforting because shower in the morning before day activities in a 1 night stay .. its a pretty big deal.
Great room and location. Superb views
The location was great and the meals in the restaurant were lovely.
The room was a little out-dated and the tap in the bathroom dripped all of the time.
Convenience to North Hobart shopping. No night traffic noise. Good breakfast facility to room. Ample parking. Well stocked bar
Curtain hanging hooks were broken. Cold shower handle loose. No bedroom T.V. No electric blanket.
Bed extremely comfortable. Great for bad backs like mine.
Great room and housekeeping assistance was excellent.
No hot water and no maintenance staff to attend to problem. Poor room service - made bed only, bins not even emptied.
Location was great ,plenty of parking .
The rooms really need a makeover, they are looking a bit tired.
The bed was good
The rooms were dark .the staff were dour.rooms need to be updated..it was Not what we were expecting for a Rydges Hotel... Totally gutted
table lamps in newly renovated suite were old ad looked out of place the shower head was not a water saver type ...interesting but why not??
The bed was very comfortable.
Decor is outdated, particularly in the bathroom.
Everything, booked out early.
Eddie, Bribie Island, Queensland The room and comfort was good although bar and lounge was supprsinglly small. Service was excellent, but rooms supplied limites facilities ie a microwave oven
Location was poor for someone partially diabled and having to walk up and down hills for shops was unexeptable. we had no tranport of our own making gettig around difficult. The bar and ajacent room was far too small. A free transport service to/from the hotel would be a great advantage
