Friendly staff.Beautiful buildings so typically Hobart
Stayed 8 nights and they didn't vacuum or wipe down the surfaces once. They only changed the linen.Disgusting cleaning service since I was paying nightly not weekly rates.
Room was comfortable, plenty of parking.
The rooms are incredibly old, and very outdated. The restaurant was closed due to an upgrade, bad timing. Would have been good to know this in advance. The room was clean & not a bad size. The hotel charges the room on arrival, with fees for paying by credit card, plus more fees if using the card again for room service, mini bar etc..
Gorgeous view from our room
The bathroom was very old and had broken tiles etc - not what you would expect from a Rydges hotel.
The ooms were big and quiet
Badly in need of a facelift Would have been great in the 70's but not today.
Great location, beautiful food, excellent facilities & value for money
The room is well equipped and clean.
The bath curtain is the most dislike item in there! It isn't the proper material so it constantly sticks to the wet body which is not hygienic at all!
The staff were very helpful. The room and furnishings were very quaint - especially the half canopy bed.
The bed was quaint - BUT small and the mattress hung off the edge - I nearly fell off. Kitchenette facilities poor. No microwave and we had to ask for pan to cook in - BUT when we asked the staff did the best they could.
room quality bed options layout of rooms noise from sports ground next door early on a Sunday morning
The staff at Rydges were so friendly went to the extra step to ensure our stay was a pleasant one. The location is in a great spot nice and close to town. Also had plenty of on site parking. Room that we had was quiet modern
Couldn't fault our stay.
We liked the idea of being able to choose what sort of area we wanted we our room to be in
LOCATION AND FOOD DEALS.
The only thing I liked was the view from the room it was very good.
Room in poor condition. Not updated for about 30 years. Bathroom shower mouldy and covered in soap scum obviously not cleaned in many months, if not longer. Basin taps had mould around the bases and the plug hole had mould around it too. Exhaust vent in ceiling covered in dust. Kitchen exhaust fan also covered in cobwebs and dust, neither cleaned in years by the look of them. I have photos.
Great location. Room was clean, Free wi-fi
Very quiet, the building itself, nice view
Loved the building and the space offered both in our room and in the car park! Bed was comfortable. Food was fantastic. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Don't think the cleaner is doing as good a job as should be done. Bathroom fan was clogged with residue and dust. When looking for a pen that I dropped on the bedroom floor, I found discarded drink bottles and tissues under the bed!! Yuk
Comfortable bed. Good sized room and living room.
Very cold room on arrival, took a while to heat up. Dated room and furnishings. The Gym was ill equipped and seemed disused and dirty.
The location, an easy walk to the local restaurants. The breakfasts were generous and excellent, we also enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant one evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful, impressed with their knowledge of the heritage listed building.
The room was a little tired.eg. Curtains were falling off the rails, but I understand a refurbishment is near.
Steps and the door rattled in the wind all night. Not happy.
Location and heating.
Hard mattress with hard pillows. Bathroom had grime and mildue around taps and tiles. No Internet for Mac computer even though I was told there should be a cable to connect in the room. Cracked paint on roof, stains on carpet and ripped up carpet and power points dismantled. The whole room smelt stale as if noone had stayed there for a long time. Dust everywhere especially in the kitchen.
Not far from the city, pleasant and efficient staff on booking in.Food was well presented, good quality and value for money.
Restaurant was very sparse and lacked any ambience.Room was very cold on arrival. No wi fi in room despite being advertised.Restaurant was cold and we were placed by a window with no curtains twice.
No hot water in the morning, very loud plumbing from room above ours. Staff not overally helpful
Liked the location and how easy it was to find. Loved the old building
The decor in our room was pretty out dated and we stayed out of the main building which kind of made it feel disconnected from the history of the hotel
The room was very spacious, the location was great. We enjoyed a nice view of Hobart.
I thought the charging of $4.00 to deliver room service meals was absurd. The price of the food which if you compare to other food outlets was higher than normal. The additional $4 to walk the food over from the kitchen to deliver is a rip off. Really does this charge need to be added, when guests are spending money to stay as well as making a choice to eat at the Rydges?
Although there entire room key system was broken down they made every effort to minimise the disruption.
Old facilities with torn curtains literally hanging from the windows.
When we arrived at 6pm-the prior morning breakfast tray with dirty dishes was still at the door. When we had additional pillows delivered they still didn't remove tray. Would seem that it was another staff members job to do that? There were sweet wrappers and dirty tissues under the bed. The restaurant was beautiful and wait staff excellent. Enjoyed our time in the bar having dessert by the fire playing pool. Main building was beautiful. Thank you.
