Pool, breakfast, bed, location
Old unit. No bottle opener. No free drink with our ridges card, breakfast run out of everything, have always had better service when stayed, staff not so helpful this time :(
Bed was excellent, probably the most comfortable I've ever encountered in a motel, the old antique furnishings matched the building well and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were a disappointment for the value with numerous marks over the walls, the room we were in seems to have had a heater that may have fused out and they fitted a new unit in but only roughly cleaned the walls down around were the old 1 had been, carpets very ordinary & cleaning basic, great antique furnishing till you get to the $10 flat pack tv unit which was so low you couldn't relax in bed & watch as the tv could have been placed on the floor, tea & coffee supplies were woeful, sugar looks to have got wet from tea and thrown back in the basket, coffee was undrinkable and no decaf or sweetners provided. Some of these things may seem petty but when you pay top price for these rooms you expect some level of hygiene and value for your money. I hope all Rydges Motels aren't of this calibre.
Quiet location, excellant service, good view of city and river from our room. Clean, comfortable, room, seperation of kitchenette and lounge area.
Kitchenette has only microwave, no stove Comfortable beds, but too soft if one has a bad back.E
The spaciousness of the unit and the view. Adequate car parking facilities.
The fact that we mostly had to wait until +/- 1.00-2.00pm to have our room serviced. The first couple of days the beds only had the covers pulled up, not sheets straightened. However, when Jo and Shirley did the rooms they were done perfectly.
assistance from staff view WIFI that worked !
stairs apartment was not clean expected separate bedrooms
plenty of room.
the bathroom door jammed
The walls were dirty the mirror in the bathroom had lipstick marks The kitchen glasses were dirty the kettle had food markings on the outside,we didn't dare to use anything in the kitchen. The lounge wasn't comfortable. The carpet needed cleaning The girls at the reception were not friendly at all!
Lovely view, clean room, staff welcoming.
Wasnt told breakfast was included until checking out, apparently trialing it.Did have to to try it though.
Location (for business purposes), room size, kitchen.
No gym, didn't refresh toiletries every day, no option to purchase breakfast from the menu (only the full continental or cooked breakfast).
Spacious, clean, quiet, close to North Hobart restaurants and cinema
No reading lights in lounge or bedroom. Inadequate bench space in bathroom Dirty crockery found in kitchen...all items should go through commercial dishwasher at end of each patron's stay
This place was wonderful. It was like a home away from home. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable with a bit of old world charm thrown in. The staff were also very helpful.
The cleanliness - housekeeping leave a lot to be desired- dirty sheets when asked to be changed the cleaning staff decided that it was unnecessary a second call to housekeeping has to be made, very VERY dated rooms, no air conditioning in our room, maintenance and OH&S issues eg. No fly/security screens on windows (we were on the second floor) and they open fully, live wires running through the wardrobes, carpet was lifting in multiple places - management do advise that it is set for an overhaul mid 2015 but in its current state they should not be allowed to operate. We travelled with a group and in total had 5 rooms between us in different parts of the hotel and not one of them was any better. Management are rude and very unhelpful. Would not stay here again at any stage and would not recommend anyone stay here it is a massive disappointment especially for for the Rydges name.
Lovely spacious rooms
Need updating especially the bathroom
The location was quite good, coming off the highway and close to the Botanic Gardens
The gym was extremely poor. The facilities were not up kept and the bike machines were broken. The was a number of debris in the gym and the TV was not working. At the time the Kitchen was being refurbished and this was not alerted to us until after we checked in.
Double bed wasn't made.
Privacy, garden like setting. serene atmosphere.
Directions to room. Squeaky bed.
Most things catered for
No microwave. When making the booking we were specifically looking for kitchenette facilities. The fact that there was no microwave was disappointing.
Quality of maintenance and cleaning were not very good
Look and feel when you first enter the property and the buildings entrance and reception.
The rooms outdated and screaming for a makeover décor, lack of double bed, cleanliness, overpriced average food.
Location - to far from town Mirror in Bathroom to high had to tiptoe to look into it. Expensive for what the room was and where it was
The room set up waS IDEAL.The kitchen needs serving professionally
The plumbing system was in need of repair, wHEN showers were taken in the building, there was a loud groaning sound which when occuring late in the evening disturbed ones SLEEP.The Reception staff were not very considerate when this was mentioned.WOULD Not stay there again on our next trip to hobart
Reception staff very good and friendly nothing too much trouble, but very clean and good kitchen facilitied
Lots of steps, not good if you are an elderley person and cant do steps, although they do offer some ground floor, but when booking online you dont know that. The staff taking orders for breakfast, need to improved litstening skills and it was cold.
Friendly staff.Beautiful buildings so typically Hobart
Stayed 8 nights and they didn't vacuum or wipe down the surfaces once. They only changed the linen.Disgusting cleaning service since I was paying nightly not weekly rates.
Room was comfortable, plenty of parking.
The rooms are incredibly old, and very outdated. The restaurant was closed due to an upgrade, bad timing. Would have been good to know this in advance. The room was clean & not a bad size. The hotel charges the room on arrival, with fees for paying by credit card, plus more fees if using the card again for room service, mini bar etc..
