That there were taxis directly opposite the Hotel entry. Yes, the Hotel room was ridiculously small and the bathroom very run-down and the floor dirty considering I paid $180, which was supposedly a discounted rate. I have stayed in Hotels in the centre of Melbourne for as little as $120 and the quality of those hotels were far superior to Rydges. I visit Melb very regularly on business and it was my first time at Rydges. There is no compelling reason to return on future visits. |

Location is good but the hotel is being held together by the staff. Wonderful staff, shame about the rest. The room was very cozy and not at all what I expected from the information provided. The foyer is dim and the carpet looks like it needed replacing 10 years ago. At very best I would rate the hotel as a low 3 star. Better watch out if you do not lock the bathroom door as you will be knocked over. Most ensuites are larger. We arrived very early am hours after flying for over 4 hours looking for a cold beverage but not at Rydges they do not turn on the room bar fridge this is left up to the guests. We did eventually get a cold drink but not without some creativeness of wonderful staff. |

Convenient and comfortable. The entrance hall is not particularly welcoming. There could be a better registration desk. |

Tea and coffee in the room was of aa excellent quality as well as the bathroom products Had booked a package but could not be seated for dinner as by the time we booked the dining staff said she didnt have room to seat us this I could understand if the room had been full but at that time had only a handfull eating. Prior to booking a package possibly inform guest you need to ring and book in advance ie seeing a show at a set time etc |

Hotel was in close proximity to the theatre, which was the main purpose of our trip. I had read other reviews after I booked, and was a bit unsure as to what to expect eg noise, cleanliness, state of room. Was pleasantly surprised - goes to show you can't rely on what you read. Food in restaurant was good, quick service so we were not late for show Bed was too soft - ended up with back ache. Ensuite a little squeezy, but OK for overnight - nice to have a separate shower instead of over bath. |

Very close to entertainment venues and restaurants. Great parking next door. Loan of umbrella's was appreciated. At reception, on arrival they had to look hard for our reservation and at departure they insisted that the bill had not been prepaid. After I showed paperwork they still had to check with Accounts. Disappointing. |

I loved the location of the hotel, it was so close to everything we had planned in Melbourne such as AFL, shopping and Museums. The bar shut way too early on the Saturday night so after we came back from a restaurant we had to go over the road to another pub (which was busy and very noisy) for a nightcap. Poor form. The bar should stay open late for residents. |

I think the location of the hotel where it is located in the heart of Melbourne and easy to access to public transport and good restaurant. I also like the lobby, it looks new and nice interior design. Friendly staffs and manager. Very helpful staffs. The room is quite old. No in-room safe. Noisy with trams and trucks and other guests walk pass the corridor. Not enough elevator, wait long time. Slow lift and get stuck in there one time. |

As I was accompanying my intellectually disabled daughter, I liked the close proximity of our room to the lift, the helpful staff in the car park, the facilities in the room and the outlook from the room. The staff and chef in the dining room were very accommodating to the needs of my daughter. Yes. The corner toilet leaves no room if a person collapses. My daughter has epilepsy and I was very concerned at the lack of space in the toilet area. Also the room doors all bang shut when people enter or leave.A self closing quiet door would be appreciated by all guests. It was a pity that the television doesn't have a built in DVD. We eventually were able to have one from reception but not until Sunday night. |

We enjoyed our stay and every thing went well. They upgraded us to a larger room and we would definately use their services again. Service was excellent. TV reception in our room was not OK. Also they could have advised us more on how we should use the carpark before we booked in at the reception desk. |

The staff were friendly and very efficient with both check-in/out and service. The bar and restaurant was modern with great food and service. The bed and pillows were a little uncomfortable and the heater did not function very well. |
