The location was excellent and all facilities and service of an acceptable standard. It's difficult to understand why parking is seen as a chargeable (albeit reasonably priced) extra.

Hotel was in central location Second floor superior room river view was blocked by hotel next door with noisy air conditioners and certainly did not have "sweeping river views."

I liked the location and the view from the room that I chose. I also liked the fact that the hotel offerred to store my mountain bike. At check-out I was charged a fee for the mini bar and when I queried the amount as I was concerned at the large amount and when I queried the amount with the lady at the reception (Rachelle) who advised that I had been charged for a missing bottle opener and a packet of cahews - I explained that I did not take or consume these goods. I then explained that these items should be itemised so that guest knows what he is paying for - they were not. This amount was passed on to me without my notice and I felt this was largely dishonest behaviour. I was also charged a credit card surchage fee that I was advised again by Rachelle that I needed to pay because I settled my bill at the end of my stay. I explained that I had been offerred by one of her colleagues at checkin that I could settle the bill at the end of my stay. I explained that if this was the case then I should have been advised at the outset so that I had a choice. None of the amounts were high but in principle these small things were very unsavoury and when I raised this with Rachelle, she was very dismissive and suggested that I take this up with Head Office. I have since returned to Port Macquarie but because of this experience, chose not to stay at Rydges again.

clean room, reception staff friendly, room was available at check in time when we checked in there was a dirty room tray in the corridor near our room and as the rooms where still being cleaned we thought this was just there till the room clean was finished, however the same tray was in the same position for the evening and was still there when we checked out the following morning not a complaint but just an observation as this lets down your appearance and shows lack of atteniton to detail / checking of floors by hotel staff on what otherwise was a winning all star performance

Exceptional. I checked in here after a horrible stay at Mid Pacific Motel, what a contrast! The beds were so comfortable! Room was immaculate...great experience. Location is excellent right on the waterfront, walking distance to everything.

Reason I gave only a three to question 2 was the room we were given was on the 5th floor studio room with one small window that looked straight onto a large concrete pad , could of been the top of the garages or something & no views except the tops of some of the township buildings We asked for a water view & a balcony. We ended up paying a lot more than we had already paid & was given a beautiful room over looking the river. Room 307 absolutely gorgeous with huge picture windows capturing beautiful lawns & water views across to small island. It had no balcony but it was not needed. That room I rated a 9. The gym & swimming pool/spa were immaculate. Dining room excellent. Bistro bar for lunch was not really suitable for a Coeliac tiny selection of food suitable. Yes, we will go back another time & we know what room to ask for despite the cost.

The room was lovely and spacious. We did not have any noise during the night eg: persons in the hallway, plumbing from other rooms, tv noise coming through. It was very serene and relaxing, which is why we were away to recharge after a hectic few months of work.

The location is good and there was a nice view of the river from the room's balcony. The reception staff were rude at booking in and departure. Room service didn't arrive. The room badly needed renovation. I was asked to pay for parking on arrival which wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. The restaurant meal was badly cooked and expensive.

It was clean The staff were unhelpful and the noise from downstairs was ridiculous. There were bands playing both the Friday and Saturday night and you could here them clearly, even over the TV playing in the room. When I rang reception to complain they said they would shut the main doors and that they had received other complaints. They never shut the main doors and the noise continued til midnight.

The view from our room was fantastic - we only spent one night but were very close to booking another two nights. We watched the dolphins both in the early evening and then the next morning. We have decided to come back and specifically ask for that room. We weren't there long enough to find anything of fault

We arrived on good friday and sadly most of the town was closed for the holiday. We decided to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant and it was very good, both the food and the service.
