Good location, big room

The hotel is a bit outdated, this is visible mainly in the bathroom.

Location & Staff

Shower head was broken, Tv remote was flat.

Stayed for 5 nights while visiting to watch Cairns Ironman. Lovely room on 7th floor with balcony overlooking the pool. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Rooms cleaned each day by lovely lady, nothing too much trouble for her. Good location along the Esplanade, only 5 min walk to town/shops etc. Would stay here again.

Probably need a little bit of renovating. Strip between carpet and tiles in my room had sharp bit sticking up that I caught on bare feet a few times. Few patchy carpet bits in hallway being held together by gaffa tape

Parking. It can be a pain to find free parking around the hotel. Hence book it with Rydges if possible.

We enjoyed our stay the rooms were nice beds very comfy. Staff were lovely.

Hotel looks alright

There were no queen bed option for the rooms we picked. 2 separate beds for a couple. The toilet was clean but the shower/ bath was not clean, we could not use it. Not too expensive but not cheap also, but for the price, it looks expensive for what you get. The sleep was not good, there was a constant sound, I cant say where it was coming, it was like air conditioning or an engine sound (we were not using A/C)

Great views, friendly staff, short walk to food on Esplanade.

There is internet available in the room but to use even for a short time costs a steep $20.- , in places like Rainforest Hideaway in Cape Tribulation WiFi is available for free.

I liked the beautiful veiw of the ocean , I also likes the room set out .

Tv was a bit fuzzy and not many channels

I am one of six technicians whose travel is booked by admin support staff using their corporate card. We regularly use my booking.com and have never had any troubl with the payment until my booking with Rydges. When it came time for me to check out they (Rydges) would not accept the card used to make the booking (without having a form sent to my admin staff for them to sign authorising the payment). Instead I was required to use my corporate card. Luckily I had a card, because there are others within the technician group who dont have a card. If Rydges dont want to do it the way all other motels do that my staff have previously booked using 'booking.com' then, they shouldn't be allowed to participate on booking.com.

Room very tired looking and dated. Mould on the ceiling and in bathroom. Aircon too cold and little adjustment available. Had to leave it off.

The service to the room was not great rubbish bins not emptied, towels not replaced and a very noisy party in the room below us.

Location is very good and is very nice accomodation at a reasonable price

The staff are always very polite and very accommodating

I always stay at the Tradewinds and each time I find that the cleaning staff never clean thoroughly enough. The beds are always clean but surfaces such as tables and windows are not cleaned and mould on the bathroom ceiling that I wiped away with my finger.

Great location with a lovely view of esplanade from room. Helpfull staff.

Wifi is a problem. No free WiFi and unable to pick up in room on a tablet device, could only connect in reception whichH is not very private if using Skype etc.

From the hotel the view was lovely, its position away from the bustle of the town meant no noise but also it was close enough to the centre so as to enjoy what Cairns has to offer.

Hotel is a bit tired and and the domestic staff let the hotel down on one day by not even bothering to make the bed properly let alone clean the room, but that did not overly spoil our stay.

The balcony, the lovely room, the view, the staff ...all just wonderful.

Staff was extremely helpful. room was better than expected. Very happy and will certainly return on our next visit to Cairns. I will recommend to family and friends who plan to stay in Cairns.

i didnt like the fact that the pool not having some sails on it as it would help with the shade in the outside hot conditions i had to wait till the pool was covered in quite a bit of shade before i could go into the water as i burn easerly ,and it would cut down on the heat and glare from the water .
