Score from 96 reviews Excellent
Space in room and getting things done in the room
Shower in the bath
checking was 2pm but the room is not ready by then，have to wait for another 30minutes
The staff at Tradewinds Cairns were fantastic - especially Charlie - who looked after us from day one. This has been the best stay we have had in all our travels and we will certainly return to the Tradewinds, Cairns...the sooner the better! We were so comfortable and the location was ideal. We cannot speak highly enough about our stay.
No complaints at all.
The bed was very comfortable.
Bathroom was a little dated.
Wifi reception was patchy
Good availability of parking
Wi-fi is absolutely dreadful! Rooms are very tired and dated.
Very good location. Spacious room. Nice pool. Balcony good. Very good tour desk & selection of brochures.
Breakfast OK but not worth $29pp extra. More sun lounges needed around pool. Complimentary biscuits to have with a cup of tea in room should be included, when rates are at $160+ a night. More hanging hooks needed in bathroom, as well as an extra towel.
The pool was cold
Good check in Reasonable sized room Lots of eateries near by Good location, easy walking
rooms very 70's
King size bed, hot shower, good bathroom.
noisy aircon (couldnt sleep it was so loud) one elevator for such a large hotel very expensive for a very basic hotel
Located within easy walking distance to CBD & restaurants, great view from balcony, very comfy bed, liked everything especially the complimentary upgrade to the executive floor :)
everything - especially the valet parking for only $10.00 per night!! was tired and sick, and it was great to have someone else take the car!!
Big pool, large clean room, free wifi, close to the waterfront
No cooking facilities, but then it is a hotel
Loved the location. We were upgraded to a delux room with water views. Fantastic. Walking distance to restaurant, wharf, night markets.
The per check in offering a quick check in on arrival was a bit of a disappointment. Only one staff member and a number of guest left waiting.
Location, Looked nice from outside
Music playing all night in corridor right outside our room, Old and rundown, Water went cold when having showers, Stains on carpet, Overall was not a pleasant experience!
Location, presentation, professional attitude of staff
Mini bar prices, $12 for spirit then $3.50 for a mixer is way over
Great location and rate
When we booked on booking.com the deluxe twin bed room shown was modern and refurbished. In actual fact the room we where given hadnt had a penny spent on it in the last 20 years, really really tired, misleading advertising and I would be uncertain about recommending this hotel because of this, I pointed this out at reception and received a weak non committal reply
Perfect location Ocean & Esplanade view Super comfortable bed Pre-check-in Nice garden & pool Friendly & helpful staff
Water was not heated in the pool but most people can stand colder water except me.
The entire stay went well.
Could hear running water etc from nearby rooms but no big drama.
Near to the restaurants and the centre.
The disabled entrance to the main door was not near by as the entrance to the ramp from the road was at the other end of the building.
a ugly hotel cheap fit out , appallingly cheap hard bed
The room was spacious with great views. Beds where comfortable.
Location & security & cleanliness
Had trouble with keycards twice. Also, beds too unsupportive. Booked high floor deluxe sea view & got 4th floor minimal sea view. Was not serviced on 1 day with clean towels or replenished tea & sugar, even though part service sign was on door.
Fantastic location - a short walk to the esplanade and into town, but still peaceful. The pool area is well set out with plenty of room for both children to play and adults to enjoy the sun. Staff were all fabulous, friendly and very helpful
The hotel rooms are designed so that they surround and look down into the pool area. Looks great but means that sound from the pool can be really noisy if you are on the lower floors.
Location was great, close to everything, but not right above the busy restaurants, so it was quite and it was easy to find parking right in front. Good sized room and bathroom. Was also great to pick up beach towels every day and take them for the day. Pool looked great too
The entire hotel need desperate revamping, the furnitures and the vanities are pretty old and looks outdated. The walls are dirty and scratched. We were informed that renovation has actually begun when we arrived. However our room looked nothing like it did on the booking page. so that was disappointing. Walls are not soundproof (because old design) so you can hear every toilette flush from the other rooms
