restaurant and breakfast really good
dirty, old. spiders and other animals in the rooms, really low level of comfort and quality of the hotel. Price super-high. I'll never come back.
Staff were incredible. Room was great. Bed was super comfy. Peaceful.
Pool was small and not well maintained at all. Housekeeping let the resort down. And that's a real shame cause everything else was great. Room wasn't serviced till 4pm each day.
Sails definitely had a luxury atmosphere once you entered the lobby area. The rooms kept cool with the A.C, the buffet breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly with any help we needed. WiFi was excellent---better than major city hotel WiFi!
The walk from the room to the front lobby can be long, depending where your room is. I had an injured foot, so that made it harder on me (also when the weather is 107 F, 42 C it can be a bit of a trek).
Very polite and helpful staff Attractive entrance Everything close to hand
Cleanliness not perfect but overall good . Paid for wifi had a weak signal and unable to use some apps . Pool is large and inviting but in closer inspection could do with a refurb . Missing tiles and a bit of mold .
Good room and food OK in the one restaurant that was open. Nice pool to relax in after sightseeing.
We had a number of bad service experiences. The staff apologise but give no impression that they really mean it or care at all. After the first night we had an invasion of ants in the bathroom. OK it's in the middle of the dessert so you make allowances but the response of the hotel was to do nothing. I reported it at 8.30 in the morning and then we went out for the day arriving back at 3.30. The room and bathroom had been serviced but nothing had been done about the ants. I then had a number of fraught phone calls with client services before they finally sent someone out who fixed the problem. The following night we discovered a mouse in the room (which I was able to photograph). Initial reaction of the front desk was a shrug of the shoulders and to say "we're in the middle of the dessert". This hotel is in a monopoly situation and seriously needs some competition. Prices are very high and it is this lack of competition, in my opinion, which gives the staff a casual attitude. We were travelling alone and there were constant package groups coming through who seemed to get all the attention. The advertised fine dining restaurant was closed and on our first night when we went to reserve a table for dinner at the only other restaurant we were told that it was full because they had a number of groups in that day. After complaining to reception they were finally able to "squeeze us in" at a specific time in between groups. Uluru is amazing and not to be missed but I wish there was a better choice of good hotels.
Location good and food ok
Service willing but random. Lack of a gym a big issue for us as there is not much to do there apart from walk round rock. Flies were a big problem. Buy a head net!
We partook of the spa facilities and it was absolutely wonderful. They even gave us indivual little cakes to acknowledge our wedding anniversary.
This is the best of the various hotels at Ayres Rock. The Sounds of Silence Dinner is a must. One of the best hotels we have stayed at.
The place itself is very nice, the room are good, cleaned and they tick all boxes, thhe food is good. Tyron the bar manager and Trey at reception had been helpful and did a great job
The place is far to overly prices and they milk on it at every given opportunity, the WIfi is free for 1 hour. In 21st century that's ridiculous it should be free all the time. Some of the staff were rude beyond forgiveness. Breakfast was an atrocious experience and in the end I had to get myself coffe (which you are not allow to do) because there was not other option.
The breakfast options were superb
Pool needs renovating with unstable edging. It would also be great to have some shade over part of it. The fencing looks unattractive and old style. I would modernise it with some safety glass surrounds which would have a better 'look through' effect.
Flies and moths but nothing to do with hotel really food delicious
Generally the room was nice.
Staff member who checked us in didn't have a very good attitude (another couple we met had the same opinion of this person and also generally thought sails was poor value for what you paid). He was not helpful; cost was exorbitant for what you got. $375 per night with mould on tile grouting in bathroom and ants on carpet, no breakfast included....for $375 per night?!! This was not 5 star and certain staff members need customer service training; there was no consideration or effort made for the fact that my brother (who recommended the place) is a local from Alice Springs who has brought several family and friends to visit the place; the staff member used a curt tone towards him and in no way demonstrated any effort to be accommodating. Not good enough!
Poor wifi. Poor choice of restaurants
Super close to Ayers Rock and convenient bus shuttle to the airport. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Wifi was not free...I would expect this in a 5 star hotel. Perhaps the hotel could consider offering some much needed take away coffees for sale especially when people are doing sunrise tours to the Rock.
Breakfast and dinner was outstanding.
The spacious and room, very comfortable bed, a corner sofa and a coffee table, as well as a dining/working table with 2 chairs were really convenient. Also a fully equipped mini bar, complimentary coffee, tea and milk, nice wardrobe and a very handy and well lit space for unpacking the suitcase. Clean and neat bathroom with nice quality amenities (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner plus even a +30 filter sunscreen!). We loved the Christmas dinner at the Ilikari Restaurant, the bar and the pool were also really nice. Not mentioning the close distance to the resort shops and restaurant. We really enjoyed our 4-night-stay there and would recommend it.
Nothing really - except for one incident with a cockroach which was tucked into a folded towel on one occasion. Being so close to the nature it is normal to see all kinds of life very close but perhaps the staff should ensure that the doors to the storage rooms are closed at all times, so as not to invite "unwelcome inhabitants" in! ;-) In any case, an insect-killing spray was also provided in advance.
Location, plenty to do during the hot afternoons, loved all the art and performances by the locals. Grocery store near by. Everything was within walking distance. This hotel is only a 5 minute drive to the Uluru- Kata Tjuta National Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay here and would return again for sure.
Love almost everything: the facilities, environment, friendly staff, comfort of rooms. Very spacious inside the room and the court yard.
The most expensive among all the hotels in the resort.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Rooms are basic and a little tired, especially the bathrooms.
nice pool, very nice and helpful staff at breakfast, modern facilities, nice setting, ac was working very well.
staff at reception was not very friendly helpful, we had to ask several times for additional cups. After the first night we had insect bites at our arms and legs. The second day we didn't get any new towels, even after asking for them at the reception. Too expensive for what you get.
- The whole Ayers Rock resort is a big tourist trap. - Charging for Wifi in a 5 star hotel is outrageous but typical of the Accor chain - Be prepared to eat horrible food - Room is ok but the bathroom and exteriors are old and ugly
The swimming pool was great to refresh. The Christmas dinner at the restaurant was very good. Pleasant stay for everyone.
Not a lot
Unfriendly and lazy Bar Staff, which despite their Laziness and rudeness still highly focused on tips!! Being on the top floor opposite end to reception with no lifts and heavy bags, dragging bags to car by ourselves as no one came to collect our bags after ringing twice!! Food at Bar was terrible especially for the price charged!
Tourist using swimming as a spit bowl i should have told the guest off. Tv shutting off and lossing signal seemed to be insink with a/c which made a noise in the wall .
The reception and public areas were excellent, room large, spacious and great air con.
Restaurant sevice sometimes slow, pool area and garden a little scruffy.
