Apartments are privately owned but managed by the resort.
Apartments are privately owned but managed by the resort. Lagoon pool is huge and you can access from the balcony. Opposite is a large shopping centre with fast food and supermarkets. Only restaurant in close proximity is in the resort if you like pizza. Buses run front the door to Nelson Bay. We fly but would probably come by car next time.

The location is close to attractions, it's walking distance to a shopping centre that has everything you need. Everywhere we went people where friendly. Third time staying here and would go back to this area again.

Salamander Bay is a great location to unwind and have a short break from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. You can choose to go to the beach or drive a few kilometers for other outdoor activities. The sand dunes and camel ride activities are just a short distance drive. The Oaks Port Stephen Pacific Blue Resort is one of my most highly recommended accommodation, with great location and amenities.

Amazing property. Big enough for 10 ppl.
Appliances all great. Absolute waterfront. No more than 20 steps away from water.
Salamander hotel has a curtesy bus. We had dinner there, food was great, entertainment was good.
Next time we will visit more local areas, we just didn’t want to leave the amazing property.

Would have liked the Villa (508) to have had more utensils in the kitchen .
Cutting board, mop, vacuum, sharper knives, baking trays .

We went to lot of activities, camel ride , shark and ray was a gem , we able to get in the water to pat and feed the sharks and sting ray, it was fun for whole family. Dolphin cruise dolphins just swim next to your boat . Sand boarding .
We went to butterfly house, it was a huge disappointed. Over priced with poor condition. Not treating animals right , if you planning to visit , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Having a kitchen with a stovetop and the oven was great as well as a washing machine and dryer facilities inside. The pool is just outside the room meaning no need to walk far to get to it. The parking was free and it was only a small walk to your room and back. I do recommend an apartment room with a swim out as it is the nicest option if you plan on staying at the resort most of the time. Internet access was great to have too. The room was spacious and the en-suite bathroom was big with a spa bath which was a luxurious touch.
Exceptional place – Delightful people – Gorgeous stay
We spent a great time in Salamander Bay Bed & Breakfast.
Located in a beautiful and quiet property, the room itself is spacious, comfortable, very clean with very nice original decorations and equipped with everything we could possibly need.
The hosts, Merilyn & Bruce, are easy style people, not intrusive at all and very attentive and helpful in advising places to visit and eat out.
We really enjoyed this place that we very highly recommend.
Bedrooms and plunge pool and the whole apartment had a generous size. We were with other group of friends who were in 2 separate apartments and we still got to share dinner with them. The resort had one of the best locations which was also close to amenities, the beach area and some other outdoor activities that you can go to. My husband really enjoyed his lap swimming at it was a heated pool. The kids were just a bit disappointed as the main pool was closed for renovation.
Love the swimout room, easy access to the pool without having to walk around the resort. Pool secured well from the balcony so didn't have to worry about kids getting into the pool. Pool was a great depth for toddlers and Room was a great size. Basic kitchen for what you need on holidays. The restaurant at the hotel is great and easy access. Walking distance to Salamander Bay shopping centre to stock up at Woolies. 5-10 minute drive to Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay.
Ample room to chill out, comfy furniture and walk out into the pool that goes all around the resort were awesome. Air con and TV's in each room and adequately sized kitchen were nice and easy parking. Lovely staff. Also around the corner from the local shops if you wan to go buy a small amount of groceries, books or clothes. Little washing machine and dryer were handy too.
What a fantastic place to stay. Such a find! The bedroom suite above their double garage is wonderful and so spacious and welcoming. The gardens are peaceful and serene to spend time in. Walking distance to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre. Merilyn and Bruce cannot do enough for their visitors making you very welcome. We will go back for sure! 🥰🥰
- The location is really nice, very close to the Salamander square shopping centre
- The main attraction of the hotel - the pool - is really nice.
- We had booked the "on the swimming pool" 1 bedroom apartment (straight access to the pool from the room itself) and it was really nice , comfortable and clean. No problems there.
The location at Salamander Bay Horizons Golf course is fantastic, close to water, shops and our friends. Peaceful location, quiet, until our kids were playing outside 😉 Unit very clean and well appointed, 8 beds plus a fold out sofa and spare mattresses! Comfortable space to relax and share time with friends and family
got put in a small hotel room toilet ran all night had to turn off at 2 in morning as wouldn’t got any sleep
was expecting a room with own balcony as 308 a night was a bit steep for room
food was nice very expensive for what u got
Foxtel Chanel’s didn’t work very patchy
no a private room at all
Had a fantastic time at this beautiful resort. Such a fantastic location and overwhelmed with the wonderful facilities. The pool and spa is such a outstanding feature of the place. The rooms are very clean and tidy and the staff members were very lovely. Can't wait to come back!
The location is ideal, quiet and relaxing with an unbeatable outlook against the golf course. The property is in close proximity to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre, short drive into Nelson Bay, and short drive to Soldiers Point, giving you many options.
It is a wonderful resort in Port Stephens with the largest pool on the Southern Hemisphere. The rooms were big, comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. The heated private plunge pool was fantastic.
Location on beach front and Salamander Bay shopping was excellent. 2 large living spaces with Netflix and Foxtel on both TVs. Air Cond works really well. Lovely art work throughout.
The apartment and hotel were both fantastic, we’ve stayed in other rooms at this hotel before and we always love it but having the private pool was a massive hit with the kids.
The pool that goes around the hotel is the number 1 best feature of this hotel.
It might be shallow but I was able to go twice around the pool without getting bored.
