Sanctuary Beach Resort  

It is near to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctaury and the airport.

It is not suitable for elderly folks. I've paid for a 3 bedrooom and requested that the room be suitable for elderly folks. The apt given was on 3rd floor with no lift. I've to downgrade to 2 bedroom on the 2nd level, and 2 roller beds. A basic apt.

External facilities, grounds, location were all great. The unit was roomy, fridge, stove, washing machine were all good. Important for a family group. Beds were clean and comfortable.

The room we stayed felt unclean. Fan blades had dirt from years, light fittings bugs from years, the windows were dirty, the shower still had the sand from the previous guests. The furniture was falling apart. The room has had little if any refurbishment since it was first built. Towel rails and soap holders broken. The carpets and lounges (which were very old) were sticky, you did not feel like walking barefoot, or lying on them. The pool closing time was 6pm so after a day at the theme parks forget about a dip in the pool with the kids.

I loved the postion of the Resort right on the beach. The Apartment that we had was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and very clean. The staff in Reception were very helpful and friendly.

Location. Staff were excellent. Clean well presented facilities.

Unfortunately the tv in the parents retreat was broken along with the inevitable few absent kitchen utensils. I would like to strongly recommend a surfboard lock up to avoid guests carrying surf boards through the stairwells and into accommodation, especially considering proximity to the beach.
