I liked the location - for even though it's quite near the esplanade, it's quite secluded and private. Very tranquil. The management and staff are very helpful. The variety of bird life and other creatures make it very real place of retreat. I loved the fresh smells of lemon-scented flowers or trees as I went for a walk. Great place!
Interacting with the wildlife. Great break from the business of the main city. Lived in the comfort as if it were your home.
No free wifi
This was our 2nd stay but as we had 2 grand-kids had a family unit which overall was a most pleasant experience
Think the matress in main bedroom needs replacing along with the lounges these were very uncomfortable.
Location Room facilities Cleanliness Comfortable bed
Very well equipped and clean cabin/lodge, in a lovely location
Nothing to complain about, we were very happy with our short stay
Tranquil surroundings, wild life, easy access to hotel, comfort of our cabin.
Getting bitten on the toe by mischievous tortoise.
Our kind of excellent without all the glitz & glamour. Just a great place to stay. only a couple of blocks from the water, but peaceful & quiet - no traffic, no noisy vehicles, no thumping music, no highrise. The villa was spacious, neat, clean, located in a natural setting of gardens, trees, lake, birds, frogs, yet private. It would be a choice spot for a longer holiday, & well set up for self catering -had all the necessary apparatus. Not far from food stores for self catering & all manner of takeaway if thats what you prefer. Highly recommended.
We were only there for one night
The layout of the cabins which were located around the lake, the quietness, the birds, ducks. It was a real nature reserve. The location was also good, with the hotel next door serving very good meals and the shopping centre was a short walk away.
Accommodation needs some TLC as standard of décor has not been finished well and needs updating. Bathroom needs updating. Cleaning standard not brilliant.
Peaceful, staying there again. Love the ducks and birds. They were always there, so relaxing.
The stay wasn't long enough.
Great location with plenty of room for off road parking of car with boat trailer attached. Quiet, clean and manager helpful. Enjoyed feeding the bird life and being able to walk to botanic garden, shops and hotel for a drink.
Was nothing to not like
lovely place, close to nature, oasis in a way
Great place. We will stay here again.
A wonderful location only a short drive from the Urangan Boat Harbour with shops and the Esplanade, Pier and water also very close. The birdlife at the resort was lovely with swans, ducks, ibis, swamp hens, magpies, wagtails, kookaburras, Lories, as well as turtles, etc. Air con. units also helped in our early summer, with easy access to the pool and BBQ's.
Unfortunately the resort is showing its age, with units getting quite tired inside, with blocked up and rusting gutters, unkempt gardens everywhere, a terrible main entrance past what seems to be an overgrown large drain, and no dedicated parking at our unit block. However for less than $500 for the week you dont expect a 5 star resort.
Beautiful surroundings. Jason was very helpful. He changed our cabin so we did not have the road view past the lake.
Too much chlorine in the drinking water. Don't take cabins 1 and 2 overlooked by the road.
Helpful staff Flexible regarding our booking around a Fraser Island tour. We could leave out luggage in the room. Nice lake in the middle if the area.
Accommodation getting on in years! Very loud neighbours until 3am (Even after asking them to be quite)! Moldy carpet, old bed, very loud and dirty fridge in the room, annoying light from outside.
Just Loved this resort, it was quiet serene which is amazing as it is in town with shops restaurant and services 5 to 10 minutes away. The cabins were so clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and obliging. All cabins face the lake, you can feed the Ducks and wild life from the veranda. The food is available from the office for a small donation. Perfect location, Perfect atmosphere to relax.
I didn't like that our holiday stay was over and we had to leave.
Paying just $70 per night for 8 nights I was not expecting too much. Villas were perfectly positioned for lake views and afternoon shade on balcony. 70's style and fitted in well with surroundings. Abundant bird life. Very clean and an excellent base for exploring Hervey Bay as well as a relaxing wine on the balcony in the evening. Lovely pool area.
The Ibis who could remove the lid from our outdoor bin. ( The Ibis was fine - just need to be aware of their capabilities )
Friendly service. Situation was very nice. Units were a bit run down but very clean. Very quiet and "away from it all" - nice to return to after a busy day "out". Privacy from other units was good.
On entry, driving past an open drain into the lake - an eyesore blocked with debris and smelly. Access to the pool needs attention - felt like I was imposing on the adjacent unit. Security lights invaded the units at night - perhaps need better window dressings to exclude them.
likes everything about this resort , excellent value for money
Location was perfect for us as we had a wedding to attend nearby. Our villa was spacious and clean. Staff was really friendly and they even get us a ride from and to the airport :) The place is really charming with the lake and the birds although they get a bit noisy at night.
Loved the lake, the wildlife was very entertaining for all
cabins need a spruce up, fan was old and noisy
Really nice staff ducks, turtles and a lot of birds/parrots quite relaxing atmosphere (we skipped Fraser for one more day Sanctuary) bbq facilities supermarket nearby nice bungalow
Wifi not included (50 mb free wifi is not enough - but 5,50$ for 24h is not too expensive compared with the room price)
Private cabins and very well maintained area around the accomodation. Parking off the street was a welcome relief for us, as we had baby gear to carry. Didin`t hear hardly, if any traffic noise. We have already decided to come back next year.
The bed was a danger though. Being on rollers and on wooden floors do not mix. I lent back on the head rest and the bed rolled away. That caused my already sore back more pain. Other than that.
Location was excellent for easy access to the beachfront and shops. Super setting right on the lakeside
Dripping taps!!! Bush in front of veranda spoilt view...needing pruning.Just 2 minor things would definitely return
