Scooby Doo and a Haunted House experience is yours for no extra charge, but you might be able to opt out in favor of a more traditional cabin that is quite comfortable on arrival if you are lucky. There you will have two TV's to choose from and a fully equipped kitchen.
Seems to be on a border of a false advertisement. The hotel building you see on the photo is actually an abandoned, spooky and fully deserted place with all doors locked and covered in cobwebs with no signs where to go. Use your smarts to guess and look for a reception in one of the buildings along the street. There they will tell you that the place has been closed for some time, but if you wish you can stay there in a room with a backyard view. However if you are afraid of ghosts there are quite comfortable and new cabins in the back for the same price but with no promised breakfast. Supermarket is across the road. It is all good, but not if you happen to arrive after dark: this will test your nerves. They also forget to give you an Internet password, so ask if you need one, but it does not look like the Internet is free. Bathroom light did not work either so we had to use the heater lamps instead in the middle of summer (would do happily away without sauna when it is 30 degrees outside, fortunately the aircon worked fine in the rest of the cabin).
Staff were friendly, good location
Was quite noisy in the building and the bed was extremely hard.
This venue is not for everyone. It is up a long set of stairs, overlooks a bust port BUT the room was huge. We had the building to ourselves. Bathroom large and clean. We enjoyed it. Service was good.
As it belongs to history there is a musty smell on entry. This does not permeate to the rooms.
Loved the location, size of the room and view from the window
Facilities are basic and the building needs significant renovation
Great views of the harbour from our upstairs room. A large room and bathroom with shared cooking facilities if you want them.
Location near to harbour and shops
Lots of steps up to room
Great old building, being renovated inside (work still in progress, but not interrupting comfort). Room was large, as expected in a building of this kind, clean and comfortable.
No free, easy accessible powerpoint. But didn't cause problems.
All functional stocked for breakfast at know extra cost clean spacious
Tired run down building obviously out for lease
The receptionist was welcoming.
The beds had not been made since the previous guests. The sheets were not clean and they had hairs on them from the previous guests. The bins were not emptied and there were used towels on the bathroom floor as well as used soap and shampoo bottles in the shower. The place was very different from the pictures online which was expected but we had expected at least the bedding and bathroom facilities to be *clean*! We were forced to pull out (what looked like clean-ish) bedding from a storage cupboard in the room and make our own beds. This was after a long day of sight seeing. We didn't get the service we paid for.
Location, view and staff. Not flash but nostalgic, quiet and comfortable.
The external stairs could be challenging for some.
Clean comfortable bed Location Basic breakfast supplied
Old ,worn out. No staff Strong smell of bleach Sign saying for lease Old facilities, Cold bathroom Made out to be grander than it was
Loved the ambience of the building and the view of the habour
Having to wait for someone to check us in, even though they knew what time we would be arriving(6pm)
Comfortable and clean. A little run down. Needs renovating.
I loved the place
My husband was negative
Very comfortable. We had booked a two bedroom apartment for a brother and sister travelling to visit our elderly father. I had expected to be staying in the building in the photograph - an old traditional building with an "old world" atmosphere and was a bit surprised to find out that we were actually staying in the "holiday village" which is a series of upmarket cabins. We were "upgraded" to a "superior" cabin so we did not stay in the old building. But it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. I was very happy about the electric blanket on the queen bed as it was very chilly, but the other bedroom did not have electric blankets on the single beds. The lady on the reception desk was very friendly and welcoming.
We only stayed for one night and so did not really spend enough time there to work out if there was anything we didn't like. It certainly had everything we needed for an overnight stay. It would have been good to have electric blankets on the single beds.
great value for money, appreciated the inclusion of a continental, in room, breakfast in the tarrif. Nice quiet room with a great view.
carrying our luggage up all the stairs
Price, location, charm, comfort and facilities.
External staircase is a little hazardous at night.
Nice old building, with good heating (it was cool when we were there)
Nothing in particular
Excellent stay, everything was perfect. Lovely receptionist who upgraded us as we were freezing and exhausted after a cold day of riding our motorcycle from Adelaide.
Electric blankets in the bed and a massive shower room.
Wifi was fairly poor, and the breakfast was minimal. But a nice addition
Excellent use of an old house, very spacious.
we were upgraded to a front apartment and had beautiful views.
we didn't stay long enough. coming back next year.
Central location quiet
Great old building with some nice old furniture. They provide really good breakfast. Not far from the main street, but the town itself not that big so probably not a huge advantage. Very comfortable bed and shower. Great place to stay!
Wifi connection was not good. they have one router which was installed in the adjacent house - I had to seat on the stairs to catch the signal. So obviously if you stay in the building with reception wifi will be ok, if in the building to the left - probably not so good
Was expecting a restaurant, but it was closed. No receptionist on sight, most doors locked, difficult to find help.
