Seagulls Resort on the Seafront  

Very clean, tidy and quiet

Not strong internet connection, but that is due to location in townsville behind mountain. Food was very expensive

Staff were very friendly. Room was really nice. We got the jungle room.

As it was business trip we had a longer trip in to town thus I only gave a fair For location. staff were very good. Restaurant definitely needs improving, food is dated and not very tasty.

Great lagoon pools fantastic and safe for a 4 year old. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Gardens tropical and lovely. I will definitely stay there again

I was very suprised at how much it had the feeling of being away somewere else on an island at a up market Resort, we were very happy with the restrant and the quality of the meals and the service there as well, it looked just stunning at night time, the pool was amazing as well. the rooms were very comfortable and clean and tidy. we were upgraded when we first checked in as well so that was a bonus straight up very impressed with that and the service at the front desk, lovely gardens and clean and tidy. I would definately stay there again. thankyou for a lovely over nite stay.... :)

location and price

You need to upgrade coffee to Nescafe. No one drinks International Roast anymore, yuk! I had to go out for a coffee. No offence intended.

the ambience as soon as you arrived was amazing. It took my breath away. The gardens are spectacular. The staff took customer service beyond my expectations. The food at the restaurant was wonderful. It was close to the beach and to the city and shopping centres. The ideal location. The rooms were well set out and very comfortable. Very clean inside and out. The pool area was lovely. Thanks to all for making our stay so relaxing.

The only fault was it is the older style of hotel and the walls are a little thin. You can hear what is going on in the next room. However being in the tropics the heavier walls would interfere with the coolness that was achieved in a tropical environment. Not a big enough problem that I would waste time trying to fix it.

noise, was very bad, had to get electrican as hair dryer did not work, as it was very cold at 1 in the morning no heater??

We found Seagulls to be an excellent choice for our needs. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location was good, quiet but within reasonable access to town centre and beautiful Strand with its great seafront cafes and bars. We did not eat at Seagulls as we were visiting relatives in Townsville and tended to eat on the Strand, nor did we use the pool but the area looked clean, tidy and the gardens well kept.

We were disappointed the hotel courtesy bus did not run at the weekends, although the walk along the Strand was pleasant it would have been nice to be able to jump on a bus into town. This was made worse by the fact the local bus from outside the hotel stopped running at 6pm and didn't run at all on Sunday. We did use a taxi twice but found them very expensive for such a short trip. For that reason I would not recommend Seagulls for elderly people or people with walking difficulties who had no means of transport i.e. own or hire car.

I loved the resort feel so close to the city also the privacy provided by the gardens. Great pool great bar. Bar staff were amiable & friendly easy going.

Restaurant decor was crappy & kitch too much bling just allow the ambience of the gardens & lights to be the effect. Staff were a bit uptight & unfriendly but good food.

The address of the Esplanade is a bit of a misnomer. The expectations are of rooms overlooking the sea. I suppose that Primrose street is not as an attractive selling point

Good location and restaurant

Breakfast was overpriced at $25 each. Coffee was out of a machine and terrible.

room was nicely decorated and comfortable. general tropical feeling was good, lots of trees etc and room to move around.

sadly breakfast was the worst I have had anywhere in the world for an exhorbitant price.

Qiet. Clean and tidy

No alcoholic drinks available before 5pm. Tv did not work properly. Meal undercooked.

Yes our room was right opposite the bar so it was very loud over the weekend and hard for kids to get sleep

The beautiful setting of Pool and bars/Restaurant. Spotlessly cleanand really friendly service.

Food was expensive but very poor quality

A very nice and comfortable room, great full kitchen, incl. oven and freezer. Comfy bed, tv was big for a hotel, great place to take young children. It was too cold for a swim, but would've been great in summer with pool right out the door. Relaxing just to walk past. Very convinient location, providing you have a car. (very short drive to the strand, central to other driving shopping locations). Great for a family escape, I found it a very good place for my young children.
