Very accommodating hosts & delightful staff. Hiroko made us feel instantly welcome & at ease. Very relieved not to have to put up a front or deal with any Daylesford snobbery. We would return just for the reflexology! Margie & Peter were a breath of fresh air. Awesome birthday weekend - even got a gift despite only mentioning in passing that it was an occasion. Thanks!!!
Traditional simplicity and initial impact of decor- stunning. The Japanese breakfast was unique and well worthwhile, delicacy and originality of presentation were delightful.
Realised that the days of getting down to floor for sleeping have passed, so was a bit less easy and comfortable than one would wish for mature age couple. However the garden, the altar area in our room, the authentic and lovely tatami matting and the sense of calming ritual were all appealing and relaxing.
price of stay and breakfast sleeping on floor, I know that's Japanese style but wasn't expecting it to be so uncomfortable
I liked the change of cultures, doing something different stepping out of our comfort zone with the food, sleeping and the room was really traditional. Even if our stay was for only one night.
Food, tranquillity, service
We loved the attention to detail. Very friendly staff willing to help with anything at all. Beautiful traditional style rooms. Excellent food.
The driveway in would benefit from being sealed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night. Great food, lovely staff and a great experience overall.
This was a really short and amazing experience. The location of this resort is at the lake side in a forest, very natural. The room has many highlights with thoughtful designs - such as the tiny Japanese style garden, light music, fresh flowers, green tea cake with tea, candle in the bathroom, spring water in fridge, etc. Also, the friendly staff gave me a warmly and helpful introduction of the room facilities and the transport in surrounding areas. Kindly printout the research routines with highlights and stapled together with a map. In general, enjoy the night spent there and I will recommended others to the lovely resort.
I liked the staff, the Japanese breakfast and the ambiance.
I found the lack of comfortable seating in the rooms was a problem. Also, the futon on the floor made it difficult to get up and down. My husband and I are over 60 and were feeling quite creaky by the end of our stay. I also thought it was too expensive.
A very relaxing atmosphere and the 'feel' of an exotic experience. Attentive staff eager to assist in every way. Great menu for breakfast and dinner. Very comfortable layout of all facilities.
Very limited baggage facilities. No space for personal toiletries in bathroom. Some evidence of mould in bathroom. Dirty spa jets indicative of poor servicing. No wifi.
It was everything I imagined and had hoped for I love it and I really want to go back again soon
My stay was too short and the restaraunt was not open as it was a Friday night
Japanese dinner Bedroom fitout Private garden Japanese staff
Noisy, lack if insulation between rooms
the Japanese experience the food. the room set out like in traditional japan getting away from technology
