Original building and features capture the old style 19th Century Melbounre The floors in the bathrooms and toilet were covered in dust, and appeared not to be cleaned for some time.

The location was excellent and most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. There were many things in our room that were broken e.g the tv and the dryer. We paid alot of money for two rooms and we were treated very badly by one of the staff members. We were dissapointed the cafe and spa were not working as this was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.

The staff were very helpful and friendly,We appreciated the tennis draw printed each day for us. The kitchen, lounge area was great. We were in Unit 23 Little bourke st. The swimming pool was fabulous, we enjoyed the use of the bbq. Our room was booked in the middle of 2011 and we were at Gordan place in Jan, So not a last minute reservation. We were 2 couples (70yrs+) and our bedroom was the passage to the bathroom and toilet. This was most unsatisfactory, The floor boards squeaked. This made it uncomfortable for all of us,We asked for a change of room but this wasnt possible. The bathroom needed 4 towel rails for each of our towels, only 2 were available. No mirror in the second bedroom. I would recommend this hotel if the above things were rectified. Also we paid $315 per night, others in our group who booked at the same time, had a far superior room paid, $280 a night

Central location with swimming pool Friendly staff We stayed in a "2" bedroom apartment. 1 bedroom so small couldn't even open wardrobe doors! Shower door off runners and broken so couldn't open shower door. Only 3 towels provided for 4 people. In need of refurbishment as carpets in hotel corridors stained and damaged

The location was great. Beds were too soft and rooms felt cramped. Overall the hotel felt dark and dirty. The atrium/courtyard had bird crap and feathers on what looked like an indoor sofa set.

Location is great - staff were good. Room was clean, towels good. Facilities need upgrading. Lights worked intermittingly, Airconditioning had to be fixed before I could use the room, tv control wouldn't work and replacement not much better. Very little cutlery/plates etc - including only two small glasses and 2 very small cups.

Close to everything we needed, friendly reception staff The sauna and gym werent available.not enough cups, mugs or wine glasses for 4 people.Shower was blocked and was reported on the monday and when we left on thursday nothing had been done about it.We understand it was in the middle of the changeover and the previous owners may have become a bit slack so for that reason we would be prepared to stay at your apartments again. Not sure if the staff were the same but I found the Quest staff were very friendly and interested in our stay.

The rooms are very well equipped (I was in a one bedroom apartment which had sink, fridge, oven, TV, sofas, dining table, huge king size bed, bath and shower). The location is also excellent: very close to the Parliament building, and walking distance to Chinatown in Little Bourke street, as well as the Bourke street mall. I found it quite easy to get to the hotel: I caught the bus from the airport to Southern Cross Station, which is a few tram stops and a short walk from the hotel. The rooms are beginning to age.

We have been staying at Gordon Place over a period of 30 years, on our visits to Melbourne. When we first stayed there, a number of small business operated inthe building, such as a bespoke tailor. We enjoy the character of the building and do enjoy the upgrades that have evolved over the uears to the levels of comfort. We will be back, probably next year. Its a pity the breakfast facility and the coffee bar no longer operate.

Location and layout of the apartments with the 2 courtyards. Working desk facilities in each room. 1. Worn steps from floor 2 to floor 3 nearest reception are somewhat dangerous and a potential liability for Somerset Gordon. 2. Air conditionining (heating) in room 13 does not work - not good for cold winter nights.

Location was good. Desk staff were helpful. I thought the rooms were run down and the cleanliness was very average .Extra duvet tor the bed was dirty. Bed covers were sheets. The noise level from the street at night kept you awake and you needed ear plugs in order to sleep. If the jug and heater were turned on at the same time the electricity would short out. I let the front staff know of this but nothing was done.

We were very happy with the hotel apart for one thing & that was the fact that we specifically booked this hotel for all the amenities that were available to us & the location due to it being right in little bourke chinatown for the restaurants The fact that the facilties we wanted to use the most being the spa was completely empty & the sauna was locked up & couldnt be used so that was very disappointing
