Situated in the centre of Hobart, Somerset on Salamanca offers apartments with balconies 100 metres from the edge of Sullivans Cove. It features a DVD library and a massage service. All of the serviced apartments at Somerset have cable TV and a DVD player. Each apartment includes a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities. Somerset on Salamanca is less than a 15-minute walk from the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery. The Hobart Royal Botanical Gardens and the Discovery Centre are less than 3 km from the hotel. Excellent Apartment, perfect location, private and spacious. Have stayed at this hotel before and will do so whenever I am in Hobart. Not enough car parks.

When I arrived at the Hotel they had no confirmation that I had booked through booking .com They said they had no rooms and that we may have to find something else and they were going to charge more. I showed them my booking .com. confirmation and they were not going to honour it at first....... They eventually sorted it out, however we thought it. not sure if it was Sommerset or booking .coms problem

I have stayed here before ..I really appreciate the friendly staff that I have encountered on each stay. The facilities are in a great location and quite spacious. We also recieved a complimentary room upgrade which made our stay - all be it a short one - more enjoyable. The room was just a little bit lacking in the cleanliness department. Especially in the kitchen area. Also one of the curtains in the bedroom was soiled which was a little bit disturbing when I went to close it.

The location was fantastic and it was quiet. I very much appreciated that after I made mention of my Mum's 60th birthday, the staff kindly left a note and some chocolates - Great service. It was also a very convenient check-out process to which I never experienced before and made our departure seamless. Many thanks. The only thing that we could comment on is, our second key didn;t work, but having one was fine.

Location. Clean and comfortable. Was unhappy with the non-refundable condition and was nervous to book it. I think a fee within 48 hrs of cancellation is fairer.

Lovely suite, with everything in it. Free Wi-fi, and parking. Separated from the other hotel buildings (I.E. check-in) by soem distance, this presented no problem whatsoever. Washing machine/drier. Very central to the city and the famous markets on Salamanca, and all the eating establishments. All-in-all a very good, value-for-money facility. The views from the nearby Mt Wellington are just stunning !

Spending the day at Salamance Markets, looking at all the great local produce and hand-made goods for sale. People were so friendly and the atmosphere very inviting. We went to Elizabeth Pier, partaking great food and wine at T/42%, a bar-restaurant. Worth a visit. We had a small child in our party and they tried to charge $50 a night for the extra single bed, which I found unacceptable. I refused to paye seeing I was told it would only be $10 per night. Televisions are old boxes which I find hard to accept these days when plasma T.V's are so cheap. Noise from other tenants leaving early in the morning was a major problem. No regard for others at all. Hardly the hotels problem I realise but it should be mentioned to foreign tourists.

It was in a great location. Close to the city and waterfront.We had 3 small kids so having a TV in each of the bedrooms and living area was great. The hot water ran out once and allocated parking, at times, was unavailable.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. This hotel is right on Salamanca so is within walking distance of the Salamanca area, piers and Battery Point historic village. We like to self cater and to have in room laundry facilities, both of which were available at Somerset. Only a minor point - on premises car parking is very tight and limited.
