A comfortable place to stay! Breakfast was lovely. The only negative was that we could hear the conversations of people in the next room.

Good location. Laboni who was at the fron desk most of the time is excellent. The breakfast was good. The attached restaurant/bar is just ok. Cheap food and not a great beer selection. They say they are open from early until late, but they aren't.

The breakfast was second to none. What is described on the web page is not what it is in reality. Lifts broke down with people in lift. Left at reception for more than fifteen minutes while person was on phone we rang the bell and the door closed.

Very clean, quiet and relaxing place to stay. We will definitely be staying here again We didn't find where the bar\restaurant was until when we were leaving, maybe a sign to show where to locate it would be beneficial.

Very friendly staff Location Walls paper thin. Could hear everything from the room next to us and in the hallway to the point we were woken by the alarm clock from next door everyday! Lights in hallway kept room well lit at night shining through the door to the room which also made it difficult to sleep. Bfast variety a little disappointing.

Close to CBD. Walking distance even to St. Kilda (6Km). It is a place where you can go shopping - drop off the goods and go out again. Very convenient. There was a refrigerator, safe, coffee machine, water pot/heater for tea, ironing board and iron in each of the rooms (they moved me to a larger room because they were renovating the initial room). I went to the Victoria Market and stocked up on cold cuts and fresh bread and saved quite a bit of money by not eating out every day. It was only a 15 minute walk to the market. The area is an adult area with a number of adult clubs and entertainment. Although, they are rather low -keyed. Some may be uncomfortable with the area. It was ok for me. There was only one laundry room on the second floor (I am not sure if the lower floor had any). There was a laundry room on the third floor but had no machines at this time. The walls are a bit thin and you are able to hear conversation in the adjoining rooms.

breakfast room, so disoppointed with the room compare with advertising. We booked 2 nights, 1 room with 3 single bed. when arrived with room 1 single and 1 double, toilet room with out holder door, seat in room and can see people had shower because big hole of toilet door, at night, very noisy because of night construction. nighmare with noise. next morning I when to receiption to complain about the room and noise and would like to change the room because of noise we can't sleep, they said pack up and come back at 2pm to check in another room. so all our plane had to change because of room. shop around waiting untill 2pm to check in again to make sure a room ok. finally the room ok and we can sleep well

My boyfriend and I went to Melbourne for a long weekend and we stayed at Hotel Sophia for two nights. The location is great. We took the skybus from airport and the hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from the bus stop. The room we stayed was quite small but has everything. It was not facing the main street so was quiet. Breakfast is freshly made. Full fee for the stay was deducted from my account in January when I booked for my April stay. I contacted the staff and was told this condition is the fine print somewhere so I have to deal with it. Before we checked in, another $150 was deducted for the bond which I had assumed would be refounded when I checked out. Unfortunatly, I am still awaiting the refund.

Comfortable and pleasant Breakfast to a good standard 24 hr reception is valuable modest prices pleasant bar Would happily stay again Room was booked as a 'triple share' for 3 adults. Was disappointed to find it was a double bed pus one single, instead of three singles. Coffee machine did not have capsules, and no instructions about where to purchase. there was percolator coffee provided, but no percolator present. When we were provided with capsules, we found the tray already full of empty capsules. Insufficient milk for three adults. (only 1 supplied). Had difficulty with TV remote - was not working properly

We had read bad reviews and were worried till we arrived, but were quite satisfied with the accomodation. Room was a bit small. Staff were wonderful. We had 6 days there and were more than happy. Meals available at the Golden age were handy and tasty. Guests that we met thst were complaining about minute things. Not worthy of complaints. Some people just want everything perfect and this is not always possible. Staff did their best to satisfy

Good location for main station and bs to and from airport. Also, not too far to walk into city centre and the free tram (35) operating as a circular has a stop very nearby). Breakfast included (although fairly basic). I reported immediately that water was leaking from the top of both tapes in the wash basin when operated. I was told by reception that this often happens and it wasn't repaired within my 5 night stay. No staff to welcome guests at breakfast. Breakfast tables were not cleared in a hurry, so it was often difficult to find a clean table. Situated in one of the less smart streets and unattractive appearance from outside. Hardly any storage space for clothes. No drawers and the wardrobe very limited.

Good location with easy access to everything. Very uncomfortable. Noisy. Staff are unknowledgeable and unhelpful. Poor facilities. My room was noisy and I discovered that the window had a huge crack that was not repaired but had holes drilled in it to stop it from collapsing. Room was not cleaned properly.

We were very happy with how clean the rooms were and everyone was friendly. It was reasonably easy for us to travel around on public transport. On a whole we very happy and had a good time. That the lift broke down a couple of times. Also was shocked when leaving and presented with a bill for phone calls @ $1 per minute when the calls were to 1800 numbers and according to the book in the room were toll free and nowhere could I see about being charged at $1 per minute. It cost $13 to find out about public transport.
