Proximity to city and transport. Room was good size.
Friendly and helpful staff. Close proximity to Etihad Stadium. Enjoyable hot breakfast.
Room was a little 'squeezy' for two adults with big suitcases.
Location, staff, clean. :)
Needs microwave in room.
location, breakfast was included, clean and comfortable rooms
It's not a great hotel it's the worse hotel bad visitor can't access 24 hours as the door is lock and no reception around to open the door !! It's the worse nightmare hotel and bedroom is not very comfortable etc
Everything about that hotel is terrible Very terrible
Nice room with enough space, reasonable price for high-season in Australia, good location, nice breakfast
The staff was absolutely rude, cold and careless! There was mumbling even if you went for breakfast 15' before the closing hour. The staff didn't even smile or give you a greeting.I Complained for the slow wi-fi and they answered 'that's what we have!'.The last day, they almost threw me out of the hotel, calling me every 5' to check out and finally coming to my room to drag me down threatening they would charge me for the whole day (although it was just 11). I left disgusted and furious, never felt so bad in a hotel and I'm not a demanding person. It's very strange to see good comments for the staff (perhaps it's changed). Unacceptable manners to clients by everyone!
Breakfast was great. Bed was very comfortAble
the attitude of the staff was excellent. The room was nice and the place is clean.
Fresh paint too strong in room Noise from outside, windows should be double glazed!! Reception not maned at all times.10 min wait to collect baggage
Location great, staff friendly, complimentary breakfast was unexpected and pleasing.
Room a little small but worked anyway. Would really like to see face washers/wash cloths supplied with towels. When a room is made up daily it should have clean crockery. And dirty towels should be removed.
location and breakfast
Shower was clean, just needed a spray to remove mould Coffee maker only heated water to tepid
Very handy to venues and always a good breakfast.
The bedroom was kept clean and tidy on a daily basis. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel for some hours after checkout, which was helpful.
The facilities were very limited; no place to sit and relax other than the bar, which was neither comfortable or particularly accessible as a woman travelling alone. Many of the bars surrounding the hotel are lap dancing clubs. The breakfast was poor quality food. The bedroom room was very small, although well equipped.
Location. Breakfast included in price.
Coffee sugars etc were not filled each day in room.
1.The services at the reception. Not enough staff to serve at the counter most of the time. 2. Too Limited food for the breakfast
i like that the basic necessities were accessible and room was cleaned regularly bu
i did not like that rooms were not sound proof that it is quite the biggest turn off for me.
I have stayed before at the Sohpia and this would be the nicest time I have spent, since the renovations the rooms are much quieter, Ideal location for walking anywhere within the CBD, good food eateries close by, staff very friendly, do feel the breakfast has slackend off a little this time, it use to be wow factor but now its just ok. Still to be fair to Sophia its still very good all round value for money.
Great breakfast, comfy beds, excellent location, array of coffee in the room, great price.
Location for train station and Etihad.
The water heater noise in the wall of the room that made a thumping noise every 3 mins for 40 seconds. Beds uncomfortable coupled with thin walls and noise meant zip sleep! Hotel was full so no other room to be moved to and no discount offered when we bought it to there attention. Not good for a weekend footy visit to Melbourne when flights are involved!
breakfast clean room felt safe
no food sunday night leaky around taps and shower
For a budget place, we loved the location, the cleanliness, the facilities (free washer and dryer), and free breakfast. A very comfortable and clean room. We enjoyed our stay.
friendly staff, good - but small - room the rate include a breakfast - but a Down Under-Breakfast ;-)
The location was very good. Coffee maker in the room made a good first impression.
Very noisy pluming made e quality of sleep poor. The supply of coffee was not replenished. The staff were indifferent and almost rude. Published breakfast time ended at 9.30, but everything turned off earlier. The electrical testing of appliances was nearly three years out if date! We were expecting basic, but with little effort or expense we would have been happy.
Free breakfast, we had eggs and bacons.
Thin walls in the rooms, we can hear exactly what was happening in the next room. No free wifi. No free toothbrushes given. Hotel staffs not exactly friendly, reluctant to go extra mile for guests. When we discovered the central heater was not responding to our remote control, instead of coming up to investigate the reason, we were told to bring the remote control down. (Eventually found out remote control was not the cause of incident)
