The location was good. Not far from a shopping centre and close to the main street in Cairns. The apartments are not serviced. We stayed for 6 nights and our room wasn't cleaned once. There was a broom in the apartment but was so dirty that I couldn't use it. I would have rather paid slightly more for servicing.

The room was ridiculously small, with nowhere to even put a suitcase. Also, I was travelling with my 6 year old son and specifically booked accommodation with (what I thought was) a separate bedroom. The purpose being that I could put him to bed and stay up without being overly concerned about him settling or disturbing his sleep. Well, the living area and the bedroom were separated by very flimsy, completely un-soundproof shutter doors and there was a large open space in the wall (behind the TV!!) covered only by a venetian blind. Therefore, we might as well have been in a single motel room or a studio-style apartmennt for much less cost!!! In fact, it appears the rooms have been converted (very, very badly) to claim they have separate bedrooms. Very disappointing!

The Japanese woman at the receiption is like a stone! She is not professional when recommending the reef day trip! She only smiles and bows in front of the Japanese tourists!

Really paid off!! Not so fancy but fully equipped with facilities and applicances. Kitchen with all tools, convenient for family who enjoy warm and relax weekend. Backyard with pools and bbq facility 2 steps away. Perfect hostility and professional service of staffs. This stay pleased my mum and me greatly. Rail way at back. I was woken at night once.

It was close to everything. Great shower The floor seemed to be very dirty. You really notced it with bare feet. There was a lot of noise from the streets starting with the early morning rubbish trucks. Our room overlooked the large hotel car park. The balcony was very hot because of the sun reflection off the carpark. It was not at all relaxing and I definately would not recommend it.

Location perfect. Everything in walking distance. Sufficient on-site parking. Rooms are very noisy. Everytime people in room next door returned it was as if they walked into my room. Also moving of furniture in rooms nest door or other floors was very disturbing. My room faced the loading dock of a business. Every morning by 5:30 am loading or unloading of trucks started; good for early risers but not when you're on holiday. Towels.........very minimum. Extra or new towels AU$ 2 a piece. Pathetic.

Close to everything, easy access shops, tours, easy walk to good restaurants. Room had good cooking facilities and could prepare meals easily if you wanted. Able to wash clothes too which was a bonus. A bit noisy in the morning as could hear the delivery trucks from nearby shops reversing beepers . This was not a concern for us as went back to sleep but if had babies or light sleepers could be a problem. Our balcony overlooked the pool, so was lovely, however heard woman complaining that hers overlooked carpark, so something to watch out for. I thought it was good value for money

Great price for a nice room in a pretty good location. 10-15 minute walk to pretty much anywhere in the CBD of Cairns. "King" bed was two twin beds pushed together. Our room was at the front of the building on the top floor and there was still so much street noise we had to close the windows and turn on the AC at night.

Receptionist (Syril?) is excellent and very helpful indeed. Well, it may be because we booked with you that we had problems!! We were in an apartment right beside reception and the car park. We were wakened about 7am on both days by large groups of people waiting for tour buses etc... Room 136, I think. It was a very noisy place to stay when we were looking for a restful time before moving on. However, it was the Easter weekend and it might have been quieter at another time of year.

Our room was great, i liked the fact that we had a kitchenette and for only $10-20 more we had a deluxe room which had a gate to the pool directly off our verandah. The pool and spa were awesome and it was very convenient being right next door to Cairns Central.

Nice appartments - good location - next to shopping mall incl. supermarket etc. - good kitchen - friendly stuff - everything fine. we were in a room in block number 1 and it was a bit noisy from the workshop next door. a fork lift was driving back and force and always when the driver chose the reverse gear the fork lift started to beep. this was after 3 days a bit annoying.

We found that our unit had everything we needed for a 3 day stay and it was close to shopping and within a good walk to the beachfront. It was clean and tidy and all items supplied in the unit were of good quality.

Southern Cross Atrium Apartments had everything my partner and I were looking for. It was in a good location and the apartment was clean and tidy when we checked in. Greatly appreciated. My only concern was the occasional (very occasional) noise from a near- by train line. After making the booking, I read on the internet that the apartments were close to a train line so I requested an apartment as far away from the line as possible. The reception staff responded to this request and the apartment was perfectly adequate. The train went by only once or possibly twice a day that we heard and the noise - which wasn't too bad (and we like peace and quiet) lasted just a few seconds. The location and the other facilities made up for this slight hiccup.
