-We were happily surprised to be given an apartment with 3 bedrooms (capacity of 6 pax) and a fully fitted kitchen as we are a family if 4. We thought we would have a family room. - The reception staff was really nice and helpful in checking some infos. - The apartment was really clean. - The hotel is within walking distance to Sovereign Hill. - The hotel provides towels for pool use. - The Red Lion restaurant just next door offers good value for money meals.
- it was a bit noisy and cold at times because the windows have ventilation gaps that cannot be closed. The A/C however does a really good job of warming the rooms. - The apartment does not hv blinds or curtains in the living space and staircase which makes privacy a bit of an issue and in the morning the light comes in.
Everything! Staff were wonderful. Good location. Clean modern room. Restaurant on site was very useful and food was good.
Plentiful supply of coffee, tea, sugar & milk not the mere 2 of each. Even bickie snacks! Loved the heater/aircond in each room as I feel the cold badly. My adult kids said the pool & sauna looked great but it was a business trip.
A pair of bedroon slippers would be great to potter around esp the tiled bathroom floor. Shower cap should be standard.
Entertainment, bar and restaurant facilities are excellent. It is rare to find such high standard facilities within a motel/inn.
Very fashionable rooms
Great location for our primary target Sovereign Hill. Lots for our 11, 10, 8 & 5 year olds to do. Rooms were well maintained and clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff and an enjoyable stay all round. We would stay again.
Take goggles for the pool, our son had a severe reaction to the amount of chlorine in the indoor pool on our first day. All good with goggles. Having an adjoining pub is excellent but they need to improve on cooking a simple Parma and kids chicken, too over cooked. Our other meals were fine.
Great hotel will recommend to all
Loved the place
Never stayed here before place handy. Great food served in the hotel, Staff friendly. Early check in which I was pleased to get as I arrived early I did email them to let them know what time I would be arriving did not ask about early check in but room was ready. Good family run accommodation.
Rooms a little small for 2x kids 2x adults . Pool had lots of sharp edges which is quite unsafe for child , you must be very wary of them getting in and out even swimming .ashame buffet breakfast not served at weekends especially school holidays .
The indoor tennis court, gym, pool table, pool, spa, sauna, lovely adjoining rooms, location, restaurant with kids playground.
unfortunately the door of the unit was loose and, when the wind blew a rattle did interupt our sleep otherwise everying was ok.
Great location, great facilities and very clean
Everything is so accessible, which makes the stay so stress free. The restaurant was great but what really stood out was the friendliness of all the staff it was second to none. A very enjoyable stay.
Having a room with very little outside lighting.
The access to facilities, and location.
The hotel was excellent it was Central to everything and is in a great location me and my partner had a wonderful time even knowing that Ballarat is cold, the spa room was like a little apartment ideal for a young couple, we will defiantly going to stay there again
Restaurant price was a bit expensive.
Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The presentation and cleanliness of the room was a delight. We were metres away from dining and entertainment facilities. Everything was perfect.
Good sized room, with good sized bed. Cool interior decor. Good sized TV on the wall. We picked the spa bath room, the spa bath was large and nice. Complementary tea etc. Receptionist was nice and kind.
The complementary wifi was very poor reception and also mobile phone network was poor, so almost no internet in our room. Doona was heavy and I did not like it but my boyfriend liked it so it depends on your liking. Not so close to the station (we used train only without a car), around 15 mins walk from center of the city. No vent system in a toilet, with a small meshed window only.
Nice staff, clean room
No microwave... hotel/cafe had a child's play area (we had our grandson with us) play area was dirty and unsafe, holes in the floor, perspex around wall broken with exposed sharp area...
What a great place for the whole family. Great food location and staff will be going back for longer next school holidays
There was nothing to dislike
The room was comfortable and warm, close to the function we attended so we could walk to town and not be fussed about parking. It would have been nice to stay longer if we had the time.
Our free upgrade was a lovely surprise
The room keys not being valid for our full stay.
the pool and the face you could walk less than 20 steps to the pub that had a kids playground
being upstairs - my kids have trouble going up and down stairs
