the staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. we had a great room with a great view. bed and pillows very comfortable. plenty of towels.
the tv in the front bar was way too loud. we couldn't hear each other so we went to the bowls club for tea.
Loved the Qaulity of this Hotel. A jewel in the rough:) The Food was excellent and Staff very friendly. Beautiful pool was a great relief after a long drive.
Loved the pool - a real winner
Menu in dining rooms - offer lacking choice and presentation of good local seafood as I expected Also did expect rooms with a view of the water-front from what I had read previously
Comfortable, cool rooms
Restaurant dinner ~ poor service & food
staff . friendly atmosphere , gardens .
no hand rail on steps leading from car park to floor level rooms . no one asked would you prefer a top floor room or ground level room .
Fabulous swimming pool, very nice room with balcony overlooking the pool. Excellent restaurant. Overall a very enjoyable stay in ideal location.
Great location for the resort, amazing pool, fabulous view from balcony restaurant, serene atmosphere, just lovely thanks xxxx
We love eating dinner on the balcony. We have travelled over the years to Cooktown for that experience.
Tbone Tuesday!! Yummo
The location of the hotel was good. The unit was very clean and comfortable.
Our room on the ground floor was up a gloomy walkway. Reception staff seemed busy and did not advise the easiest way for us to get our cases to the room. Parking is on the street near the bar.
The hotel was central to the small town of Cooktown - we enjoyed their restaurant which is attached and especially loved the comfort of the bed!! Wonderful!
great restaurant,nice room
didn't like walking up the stairs to the room
Resort in handy position. Clean. Nice pool. Quiet.
The reception worker was great very informative professional and friendly
No toilet brush very embarrasing dirty toilet all day. Also not enough toilet rolls we ran out on first day. Bedroom aircon in bedroom remote not working. Bar staff down stairs not friendly no personalities there.
Bed a bit hard, shower water did not drain away properly
We appreciated the friendliness of staff, cleanliness of room and resort, food and drink quality.
We had two uncomfortable nights due to the noise generated from the Bar area - the sounds amplified up from live Music and general conversation to our room overlooking the pool. At $180 per night we would have liked a better nights rest.
Great location, clean, tidy, reasonably priced. Meals quite good, but not great variety. Would contemplate staying here again but would make sure that I had a room above courtyard level. Overall, we were relatively happy with the accommodation.
Poor lighting in shower area, only timber shutters on roadside windows (no glass??) making it extremely noisy with road traffic and the Friday night band. The swimming pool did not look very inviting with its cloudy water for the duration of our stay. Unfortunately we had some extremely noisy neighbours in the room next door who partied on for several hours. Our room was a two bedroom apartment courtyard level which unfortunately had no view whatsoever and was quite dark, but I guess that's what you get for discounted rates.
Great location. Excellent food & drink. Reasonable cost.
Great position and great restaurant. The chef agreed to cook our catch from the half day fishing charter we took - a bonus
Great Dining. Good Breakfasts. Location was excellent. The setting and gardens were very nice. The staff were friendly and professional. The room size was very good.
The rooms were a little sparse with the decor and a little dark. The wet room/toilet was small and wet. TV could have been bigger and possible wall mounted. There could have been more furniture like an armchair or coffee table to go with the couch. Some painting on the wall would have been nice.
position, food and price, cleanliness of the room and hotel
it was windy
Location, quiet, comfortable
Parking out in street, not enough bedroom lighting, no mirror in room, no comfy chair in room
Liked the fact that it was close to lots of things and that they had a dinning room up and downstairs depending on what you wanted and what cost you where prepared to pay.
Location, quality and size of rooms. Good upstairs balcony restaurant,
