Spicers Balfour Hotel  

The breakfast on the balcony and the stunning rooftop bar area. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location is not great and the rooms are very small. The room we were in was also very noisy and we were woken quite early in the morning with the noise of the kitchen and general comings and goings.

Staff were excellent, very attentive. Food excellent. Atmosphere perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Loved everything about it and the decor/furnishings are gorgeous. Highlight was breakfast as our rate included hot dish - it really was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

We had Room 8 which was a little noisy being close to entry but not enough to stop us sleeping.

Understated, luxurious atmosphere sets the Balfour apart. VERY relaxing.

The staff were welcoming, courteous and friendly. No request was considered too hard. Facilities were great, food delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing.

There didn't appear to be enough staff for the Sunday brunch for both the hotel guests and outside reservations. The friendly staff did the best they could but were too rushed to give you their full attention in comparison to when my husband and I first arrived. Maybe more staff need to be working during peak times of business to continue the high standard of customer service which is expected at a boutique hotel.

small luxury hotel where everything works together so perfectly to provide a relaxed welcoming ambience to pamper the guests.

There is so much right about this hotel, I don't know where to start with! The design is great, with a lovely small library with plush velvet chairs, the beautiful wrap-around verandah where guests enjoy breakfast. The breakfast was lovely - including a continental buffet and a hot meal as well. The staff were attentive, friendly but also easy to talk to. The rooftop bar with views of the Brisbane CBD is spectacular. The room I stayed in was not huge but very comfortable and well appointed- all rooms come with a nespresso machine and individual filtered water tap that produces instant hot water as well as cold water. The massage I ordered was divine.

The only things I didn't like are so minor, it would not stop me from staying again. The water pressure in my shower could have been stronger and no mini fridges are provided in your room. This meant the "mini-bar" was a tray with mini-bar items sitting on top - I usually avoid the mini-bar like the plague as items are always overpriced, but as I have no will power, I did deplete the supply, so to speak. The staff are more than happy to store any take-aways in the hotel kitchen fridge.

Everything was luxurious from the robes to the fittings and fixtures of my suite. Very high class.

I was disappointed there wasn't a fridge in my room but that was the only thing i could complain about everything else was outstanding and i will definitely stay again.

Es un hotel con muy buen servicio y bonita decoración

Para empezar, la ubicación!!!...esta emplazado ene dio de un barrio sin ningún encanto. La habitación muy ruidosa ya que no tiene muy buen aislamiento...a ratos parecía una jungla, lleno de ruidos. Respecto a la pieza, la cama muy chica (queen) para un hotel que pretende de esta manera...

Die Lage dieses kleinen Hotels in New Farm, ist deshalb nur mittelmäßig, weil das Stadtviertel " New Farm " nicht wirklich schön ist. Die Nähe zum Zentrum ist einfach zu weit weg. Wer allerdings gerne spaziert, kann in ca 40 Minuten einen extrem schönen Weg am Wasser zur Stadtmitte mit Blick auf die Sklyline machen. Das würde einem entgehen , würde man zentraler liegen. Dort zu übernachten fühlt sich an , wie ein echter Einheimischer, der im eigenen Haus lebt und nicht im Hotel.

Es fiel dem Hotelmitarbeiter nachts sehr schwer, noch ein extra Bettlaken zu organisieren. Da alle Restaurants zu hatten, als wir ankamen, haben wir im Supermarkt eingekauft und im winzigen Hotelzimmer gegessen.Die Tische waren eingedeckt fürs Frühstück.... deshalb mussten wir auf dem Bett essen. Man hätte uns einen Tisch anbieten müssen. .......Alles war nachts zuviel. Am nächsten Morgen waren die Hotelmitarbeiter allerdings sehr freundlich.

如果一定要说一条，就是我们的房间位于楼梯旁边，有人上下木楼梯时声音有点大。

The breakfast was spectacular. It was as copious as we wanted, but done with more emphasis on quality and fine tastes than on quantity. It was actually the most impressive part of our stay at Spicers Balfour Hotel. The location was excellent, we were able to leave our car at the hotel and explore Brisbane by bus and by ferry. It was also an interesting part of the Brisbane inner suburbs, with numerous choices in restaurants.

While the service was in general very good, and the staff was mostly attentive and helpful, they 'dropped the ball' at breakfast on our second day there. There were not many people at breakfast, maybe us and three other couples. We were the last to finish, and the man serving breakfast seemed to decide for us that we had finished too. We had to ask for another coffee, for our glasses of water to be refilled, and our dirty plates were left in front of us on the table. We were utterly disappointed, even quite annoyed, thinking that for the very high price we were paying we had a right to expect much better service than that.

the staff are very friendly while at the same time professional. The rooms are very comfortable with a nice ambience.They have also been decorated with style. It's nice to arrive in a room with jazz music playing too.

the coffee served at breakfast isn't as nice as the nespresso coffee in the room.

Great bathroom good decor breakfast menu rooftop bar was great but would benefit from better lighting, music and bar staff on hand.

No restaurant, had to go out for dinner and it was raining. BREAKFAST TOOK TOO LONG, NOT ENOUGH STAFF ON HAND. ROOMS AND HALLWAYS WERE SMALL.
