The quiet location in NRL finals weekend was excellent within easy access of Kings Cross and train station The staff were very pleasant and helpful assisting with all sorts of queries from NZers who hadn't been to Sydney for 10 years - and booking taxi for very early airport exit The room and amenities were ideal for myself and my wife although 1x towel each and room being serviced on every other day was not ideal As mentioned above - the policy of only servicing rooms every other day is not good enough - we were given extra towels on request - but milk / sugar not replaced - and room not vacuumed etc - we were there 5x nights (only small detraction from otherwise very good stay)

Would not return. Hotel suited to younger generation rather than mature age couples. Room very small while very clean and tidy. Double bed and no other sitting facilities. Room poorly sound proofed and young people congregating in corridors and talking made sleeping very difficult. No car parking and no receptionist services in the evening. Well situated for the younger generation but not for us again!

We liked everything! The location was perfect - close to train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was the strong smell of fish and chips cooking when I opened the window to let some fresh air in.

Quite good value for money. Location: Kings Cross a bit rough southwards but good for getting into the centre on foot.: You could eat cheaply in the vicinity. Good to be opposite a large supermarket. Staff were very helpful re enabling access to the hotel after check-in had closed. Beds comfortable. Would stay here again. Message-taking at the reception wasn't very good -- a phone message for us wasn't passed on. There could be a more efficient way of collecting and distributing messages to rooms. Our room was at the back so was quite noisy with bin lorries etc. But at least we had a view of sorts.

Despite being so close to the seedy part of Sydney it managed to be quiet and well set back. It did have the advantage of being near Potts Point. The cost was very reasonable. Restaurant prices were too expensive and just looking at those prices would perhaps put people off from even enquiring as to the room prices which were reasonable. Not much of a view out of the rooms but perhaps a small price to pay for the lack of street noise. The floorboards were rather noisy and so there was a lot of noise from other rooms.

I booked Springfield Lodge based on what I saw on the website however, the room we ended up with was not renovated, cramped and only fair. Based on accommodation I have occupied in the past, I believe the room we had was not value for money. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful however, improvements could be made there. The kitchen was ill equipped (ie: no dishwashing liquid) and when I went to use it, there was a water leak of some description in the hallway, which was being mopped up by bath towels and there was still water on the tiled floor....not a safe environment for guests (or staff for that matter). All in all, the hotel had an "okay" feel but I think what made our stay at Springfield Lodge pleasurable, was the Petrol Cafe out the front. Excellent menu, excellent food and service. We enjoyed several meals there over a 4 day stay. Perhaps Springfield Lodge should advise guests if they will not be accommodated in what they think they will be, based on photos from your website. Many thanks.

The Front Deck Staff were all very nice and helpful. Very impressed. They went out of their way to help and make our stay as nice as it could be. Thank you very much. I also liked the location... Just a nice walk from the Opera House and botanical Gardens. Highly recommended. Small Bathroom.

The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small (and the bathroom very small) but adequate and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in! Being close to Darlinghurst Road wasn't the drawback I feared it would be. The room was quiet. Being close to Kings Cross station made travelling around the city very easy.

Good location, lots of interesting restaurants and cafes, and pretty near to the city center, even to walk over. Quiet street in a pretty busy area. Room was of a good size so one did not feel too crowded. It was great to have a refridgerator plus some plates, knives, forks and spoons. It was not as nicely done regarding bedspread and room furnishings as the pictures online led me to believe. The bedspread was pretty tacky. We stayed on two separate occasions; in the room for the first stay the shower was pitifull, more like a faucet you turned on than like a shower.

John on reception at 9.30pm let us go straight to our room first and drop our belongings off, greatly appreciated after lengthy travel We stayed in the 'family room' 310, located on the second floor at the front of the hotel. Just because you can squeeze a double and single into a room doesn't mean you can class it as a family, small poky room and bathroom with shower only. Needs modernising. The worst thing is having sash windows in one of the busiest places in Sydney. It's like sleeping with the windows wide open, I heared 6 emergency service sirens, fighting, arguing, horns till all hours of the moring and then refuge collection. Sash windows have no place in a busy city centre and the owners seriously need to address this. When I complained I got the impression this was a regular issue and didn't get an apology. I had to request an alternative room at the rear of the hotel. Very poor, stay well away. Room equated to £100 per night.

The location was great, price was fantastic and it was great value for money. The walls were a little thin and you could hear what was going on in the next room, but after seeing the sights of Sydney all day, the noises quickly disappear as you drift off to sleep.

Great staff and great location; walking distance from the CBD. We were kept awake two out of the four nights by noisy drunken parties. One finished at 1.30am and the other went on until 3.30am. People were leaning out of windows and smoking despite it being a completely non-smoking hotel. The reception desk is not manned overnight so people were free to make as much noise as they liked.

Location Room was extemely small, with a view throuigh the window directly onto a wall. The worst thing however was the non-existent sound proofing. A couple somewhere nearby were 'enjoying themselves' almost all night long and I felt like I was in some kind of sex club. Sleep was impossible. Guests should definitely take ear-plugs!!!! The cost of using the guest laundry was also exorbitant. Something like $8 for machine tokens then an additional $7 for laundry powder.
