Stamford Plaza Adelaide

I found the rooms a little dated with limited room facilities, there was no bar fridge in the room. Coffee and tea facilities were there but no milk supplied and as the city water tastes terrible there should have been bottled water in the rooms. As a 5 star hotel these small things are the minimum and are generally supplied in lesser rated hotels that have room rates that are much lower. Meals and drinks purchased at the hotel in my opinion were over priced compared with other local restaurants of equivalent if not higher standards.

I liked the foyer.

Room furnishing and bathrooms were old and poor nothing I would associate with Stamford name. Formula 1 Hotel was better than room 606 I was given. We were on business and will never select Stamford again.

Location, friendly staff. Original room had air conditioning that did not work. We were moved to another room (slightly smaller one was only one available) but were given free breakfast as compensation for having to move.

The hotel staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, 5 star service.

The decor and carpets etc, are really tired, and need replacing.

Food was too expensive lighting in room not good for reading etc.

Its location to everything we wanted to see and do in adelaide.

Room felt a little 'tired' and needed some minor upgrades to paint work etc.

Bathroom was very ordinary - luke warm water at best with poor pressure.

On the whole this is a serviceable hotel, situated as close as you can get to both Festival Hall and the Art Gallery, as well as Adelaide's best shopping. It has a wonderful restaurant - rickshaws - with elegant oriental food; diners overlook the street through tinted glass and experience a blessed atmosphere and impeccable service. - I liked the porters, who worked hard to have luggage and hire car ready when wanted. An excellent breakfast in the ground-floor restauant.

I'd like to see the corridors' decor refreshed, a good wallpaper would do it. But I'll be going back to the Stamford.

1. The restaurant - it was a disappointment. The ambience was fantastic but the food was excessively salty and didnt cater well for customers requiring low fat / low salt options. 2. The pin-board in the bedroom is a tacky addition unbecoming an establishment of the class level you aspire to. 3. Shower over the bath difficult to get in and out of and slippery - I much prefer separate shower recesses in hotels.

I was ill and the assistance of the staff was above reproach.

As an older person, some plain food - i.e. a roast or a small grill would have been appreciated.

The proximity of the Conferenc Centre, the bed was fine.

Poor lighting in the room, desk lamp not working, room temp too hot. Toaster in room but no plates or knife?

Jodie (I think) at Reception was delightful. Bed was excellent.

In comparison to the overall room size the bathroom was small and shower/bath smaller.
