i liked the foire , the bars were fantastic.. the concierge was delihgtful . taxis are very handy ,, the location could not be better.. the room was small and overpriced,, it could way use a refurbishment .. the room service food made me actually throw up. and my partner didnt wish to try her dish as it wasnt cooked properly.. we stayed at the stamford grand prior to the staamford plaza and we agreed the grand was way better and it was cheaper ,, with a balcony Also i was charged in full for my room before i even saw it. and i couldnt pay cash ,, considering we had just come from stamford Grand ,, who had a $100 deposit on my credit card for 24hrs ,, i felt conned and ripped off..

I found the rooms a little dated with limited room facilities, there was no bar fridge in the room. Coffee and tea facilities were there but no milk supplied and as the city water tastes terrible there should have been bottled water in the rooms. As a 5 star hotel these small things are the minimum and are generally supplied in lesser rated hotels that have room rates that are much lower. Meals and drinks purchased at the hotel in my opinion were over priced compared with other local restaurants of equivalent if not higher standards.

Stamford is close to most things we attend in the city, its comfortable, choice of resturants and bars, and they are excellent. Also when you come back from an evendt you know you can sit down and enjoy a nice coctail or beer while listening to music in a comfortable lounge, Cascades. Stamford has been our favourite home away from home for many years. Thankyou The service in the cascades needs upgrading.

I liked the foyer. Room furnishing and bathrooms were old and poor nothing I would associate with Stamford name. Formula 1 Hotel was better than room 606 I was given. We were on business and will never select Stamford again.

We were very impressed with 99% of what we found at Stamford. In particular the concierge (Alex??) was absolutely brilliant. He deserves special mention for his attention, information, friendliness etc etc so please pass on my thanks to him The checkout person on saturday 10th did not impress me. I spent over $4000 for my partner and our group and we got no smile, no thank you for staying, no did we enjoy our stay etc. It was a very cold departure which was disappointing Also I had arranged a pickup from the airport and a return on our departure. The pickup did not occur and I had to phone and enquire. The return drop off was never mentioned so we got a taxi. I think Stamford let me and my small business group down on this despite earlier emails

On the whole this is a serviceable hotel, situated as close as you can get to both Festival Hall and the Art Gallery, as well as Adelaide's best shopping. It has a wonderful restaurant - rickshaws - with elegant oriental food; diners overlook the street through tinted glass and experience a blessed atmosphere and impeccable service. - I liked the porters, who worked hard to have luggage and hire car ready when wanted. An excellent breakfast in the ground-floor restauant. I'd like to see the corridors' decor refreshed, a good wallpaper would do it. But I'll be going back to the Stamford.

Value for money ..... not here . had to wait on parking valet ......to be told 25 min later nobody told them we hadnt been seen to yet ( thats what the ticket system is for ????slugged for parking ....ok if getting prompt serevice charge $4 for a bucket of Ice ........ travelled the world and never experienced charge for ice when not provided for in room , bathroom shabby and tired dont mind paying for nice room ..... poor service and shabby
