Location and restaurant service. Monday evening deal with half price was amazing!!
Showers need attention.
location, facilities and price
Pub noise and patrons behavour after 10 pm on fr, sat , sun nights
Location but it is in a sport bar which keeps going till morning.
no hot water, not safe to leave your valuable things. There was a fight in a bar at 3 am and it was scary, cause the room was just there and did not lock properly. Don't stay there to save money, better live further and take a bus rather that that!
the location was fantastic, so close to shops and the beach.
The staff were very abrupt, as me and my son were trying to go to our room just after midnight, we were not let in as they were trying to move party goers along. I tried explaining I was a guest but had the door closed in my face, leaving me and my teenage son outside.
Great beachfront location
Very hot rooms, no air con. Very noisy at all hours due to the fact it is surrounded by bars.
Loved the location, right on the beach. Room had beach views which we enjoyed every day.
We saw a lot of cockroaches in the room, particularly around the tea making facilities. Tea and sugar had to be put in the fridge. The bathroom was awful, particularly the shower. It was dirty and marked. It looked like it should have been updated many years ago. The room did not have a sofa, just a table chair, so we had to sit on the bed.
Position, Position, Position..
No TV !!! But we got compensated.
Just a bit noisy
location is excellent. Fantastic view over the beach. Great hotel atmosphere for a not so quiet beer.
The room for which we paid $100, was one of the most depressing hotel rooms I've ever seen, even in the Third World It was drab and dingy and the window looked out into a mess of garbage in a dingy inner court yard. Unable to imagine a night in such a hole, we were forced to upgrade, spent another $50, and got a room with no ensuite, but looking over the beach. Apart from the view, the room was also drab, dirty glass on the window, etc. Dirty shared balcony. The bed was fine. Being an old pub, the noise from below went on till 2 am. But we were expecting that and it didn't bother us. The bathroom across the hall was Ok but the hall itself dingy and bit smelly.
Position was fabulous
Music and revelers were loud though if you can switch off to it its all good.
The location was amazing, the view out the window spectacular! The food was good and the service was also good. The room was very spacious- we had a suite with two rooms and very inexpensive.
The noise from the hotel below was very loud, we probably only got 3 hours sleep.
Very convenient and the staff were helpful.
it's above the pub - and i knew this - but the noise continues until about 3 am and then spills out to the Corso. Sunday it lasts to midnight.
best spot near beach and Manly Center
poor anemyties, loud and not to clean
All was good except the shared bathroom
Bathroom was mouldy and badly needs cleaning and repainting
Pacific Ocean right below the balcony.
No toilet paper! No extra rolls anywhere. Dirty room and bathroom. Terrible smell masking unclean facilities. TV screen, but no remote! So poorly lit (light fixture full of bugs) had to use a torch to read. Wi-fi code didn't work. Air con didn't work. Room very dark and stuffy. Took a bath and flooded the room!? No staff. All work at pub downstairs. Too bad they can't clean this up since the position is indisputable.
Location across road from beach
Noise from pub downstairs
Location was great for a short stay
Rooms are small and very basic with minimal facilities and shared bathroom was particularly unclean
Clean bed and sheets Central Manly location to eateries Easy walk distance to ferry/buses
Strong cigarette smoke smell in room Only 1 working shared shower on floor All night noise from outside (presumably) refrigeration motor Very little outside natural light thru window
The location was wonderful, right on the Corso next to the beach. The room was very basic, but perfectly comfortable for a couple of nights if you didn't want to unpack anything (because there was nowhere to put anything). The communal bathrooms were fine, but I was lucky that hardly anyone else was staying there so I had them to myself.
It was impossible to find where to enter the hotel, no signs at all, had to wind my way through the endless bar that surrounds the entire hotel, with all my baggage, constantly asking people. Nobody on reception, nobody answered the phone number given to call someone to reception. I wasn't warned that my room had no outside window (so no fresh air at all), but merely opened onto a balcony in a small courtyard in the middle of the pub, with tables directly outside the window where people both smoked and drank until the early hours, six feet from my bed. I was warned about noise from the pub until late, which was something I accepted, but nowhere did it say it would happen directly outside my window like that or that people would be smoking right there so it came straight into the window when I opened it. Also, construction workers started drilling in the wall next to my bed before 7am.
View of the ocean was great! Basic facilities but clean and comfortable.
Noise from the pub downstairs till late and street/traffic noise but was made aware and to be expected because of it's location. We still all managed a good nights sleep!
Location was great
Very small room and shared facilities were of average quality
Had a very restful sleep despite Halloween festivities in the street below. Staff had good knowledge of area, which helped with parking etc Location is very convenient (as long as you're not staying too long - with a car).
There's nothing not to like. It's an older hotel with shared bathrooms & basic facilities in Manly. It is what it is.
Very comfortable, great view, affordable meals available downstairs.
No kitchenette facilities for breakfast, tea and coffee only. Not great if traveling with a car - no parking options.
