Scenery was beautiful. Stonelea was so peaceful and quiet with only noises from the frogs and crickets. Our breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay, and will be back!
Curtains in the rooms let sun in to early!
Convenient to the places we wanted to go
Very dated it would have been lovely in 1990 but it is very tired now. Dining room - even the staff seemed to wearing coats at breakfast No TV or radio Wood was provided for fire - had been cut too long to fit into firebox and there were no tools to open fire doors etc.
I loved the privacy of the cottages, the lake view from the window, the pool area and the restaurant. Outside there was plenty of wild life. It is a rural setting and everything was appropriate. If you want pristine stay in the city.
It was all great.
the whole place had a run down appearance and smelled like an old people's home. There was nobody on reception when we arrived. There were only 2 other guests at dinner which was disappointing and over-priced. Would not stay there again. A serious make-over is required.
the grounds were superb and the facilities provided appeared excellent
the rooms were a bit tired
Cleanliness and quietness of this location. A lot of kangaroos are coming around golf's lake at sunset: fantastic!
Very nice property.
The lake cottages are a bit run down and in need of a renovation.
The view out to the lake and the Kangaroos close by. Bed was good.
Having to carry bags quite a distance to the cabin, no toaster,no housekeeping for 2 days, tap in bathroom ran constantly and unable to turn off, cabins are tired and in need of some maintenance outside and inside, map of grounds we were given by reception had climbing wall on it but it was nowhere to be found, heated indoor pool was cold. Food was very expensive.
Fantastic holidays for couples who want to relax, play golf and enjoy lovely food. Terrific staff and very accommodating.
The resort is a little old and worn but because it has sentimental value for us we don't mind.
I was a bit afraid by reading some of the previous reviews talking about old and chilling rooms, but the cottage we had was very cosy and comfy, with a lovely fireplace and some electric blankets so we were very good. the view on the lake and the golf course is amazing, it's a lovely and quiet retreat in a beautiful location.
the place was not fully booked, but when i asked for a cottage close to the lake and a bit isolated from the rest, i got instead the one closest from the restaurant, the other buildings, and the most far from the lake...
Beautiful place, greenery, hills,nature
the lake cottages are devine and restful
the bed was a little hard
Loved the free activities such as bike riding and trout fishing. View was breath taking. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Food was way over priced. Told it was a king sized bed but was just two doubles pushed together, very uncomfy.
I enjoyed being able to fish in the stocked lakes. Very peaceful and relaxing. Will be returning. The meal at the restaurant was first class.
Pillows were quite hard. Will take my own next time.
Massage was divine Surroundings were beautiful staff lovely,
Heater very noisy and not working well Fireplace was full so would not stay lit nothing to clean it out Gun shots most off the night nearby No tv or toaster
A pleasant stay
I won't describe it as a country estate, it is more like a good standard hotel
