Arts Hotel  

Place was old and in serious need of a renovation. Rate was outrageous for the room

I had to attend St Vincents Hospital for medical care over the following 2 weeks. My wife and children found the close proximity to the hospital brilliant but also closeness to shops, entertainment etc a great distraction when unable to visit me. The staff were most obliging and understanding, providing a discount because of the length of stay and the nature of our visit without any request from us. We have done alot of travelling around australia in the last few years stayingat a whole range of hotels and motels, but the Arts has to be close to the top, above even some of the major hotel chains that cost alot more. Friendly staff, garden pleasant, parking undercover made available for us, made welcome on arrival, continental breakfast enjoyable and reasonable value. Staff upgraded standard booking to quieter, garden outlook room.

- No biscuits with coffee/tea - bit disappointing. - no shampoo/conditioner supplied in room, only squirt stuff, no soap cakes. - would be good to have some form of TV guide in room for channels offered. these are minor, but usually found in most hotel/motel. if included would be better impression. we enjoyed our stay though and happy to have stayed at Arts. would stay again, would recommend to others.

E have stayed here before. Small hotel, quiet, lovely courtyard, helpful staff, great location, free WiFi,clean and comfortable. Reasonable price for Sydney. Will make this our base for Sydney visits in future.

The location was perfect for the events we were attending. While we didn't get a chance to do this, loved the idea of being able to use mountain bikes during our stay.

We had a dirty cover on the bed when we arrived.

Excellent location for concerts and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I stay there regularly. It is very close to the cbd, book shops, public transport, walking distance of the city central, and excellent breakfast.

Good value and well located

It was clean and allowed a choice about changing of towels, bedding etc. The main requirement of a hotel is cleanliness, particularly thwe bathroom and bedding, since it is used by many people. The Arts hotel had the right priorities. Not many extras, but everything was clean. The tv was easy to use and everything was in working order. Soap and shampoo and shower cap was available on request.

The gym needs to have a sign on the door. Was given keys, but did not find it since there was no sign to say "gym" Would have liked a bath in the room, but not if it meant extra expense. The cleaners need to have a trolley for carrying clean towels etc. Noticed some clean towels had slipped from the plastic covers and were half on the floor. On thwe whole, a good hotel. Better than most for cleanliness.

We were made most welcome by the staff and we were delighted to receive an upgrade. As we had just landed from a long flight, we appreciated the quietness of the room were given. Although a very small room, it was well equipped and the bed most comfortable.
