Location on main street
Small room, noisy in the morning, passageways noisy, could be improved by carpeting throughout.
Position Balcony overlooking Macrossan Street Bed firm but not uncomfortable
Small ensuite Not much room either side of bed although enough space between end of bed and doorway - having a balcony was saviour.
The location is great, very short walk to restaurants, boutiques and pubs. Also good that you can park at the rear of the property.
Never got to meet the staff as they are not always there to greet you. You are sent a text with a code to you can open a box with the key inside. This is not a huge concern though.
The location was fantastic, rooms clean and tastefully furnished and price was right
Half way along the main street in Port Douglas, an easy walk anywhere. Neat and tidy. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Off street parking. Enjoyed our stay.
We had a room overlooking the street. Some noise from the pub next door at night (not too bad), noisy garbage truck woke us two of four mornings, noisy leaf blower woke us each morning.
I was travelling alone and therefore wanted to stay in town. Gratitudes is right in the centre of town, walking distance to everything. The self check-in couldn't be more simple. I received a text during the day to let me know the code to get my key and my room number. Then I was able to get straight into my room. it was clean and all i would need for the two nights. Janine came to introduce herself later in the day, and I had also booked a tour through her the next day so she ran through again what i needed to do and everything went great with the tour.
The only thing I would say is that remember this place is on the main street, it can get kind of noisy with the street sweepers early in the morning. But this is a price you pay for being in the centre.
Location and parking
Reception attended remotely (by phone). Towels not changed daily. Room not done daily.
Website said there was a cappacino machine in each room. There really wasn't. Just a kettle. I wish we had remembered that when we were there!
Location excellent Quiet Secure, clean Staff only a text away if anything needed.
Bathroom a bit cramped Hair dryer sounded like it was a bit dodgy- I opted to air dry instead!
Design of the Room was simple and classy. Mini Bar supplied was priced to provide service not profit. Hosts were assisting with Car parking and room preparation. Room was located on the street side of the main street and provided an excellent location to relax and watch the world go by
Fantastic central location. Coffee maker, milk frother and i-pad were nice touches. Very reasonable price compared to other accommodation in Port Douglas.
I thought I had arranged to use the bikes but they sat there for the whole 6 days we were there because apparently someone else had booked them ( but didn't use them)
Ants in room!
For the price we paid, our expectations were exceeded, the bed was very comfortable!
The fact I had to leave so soon!
The location was excellent.
The self service check-in needed more explanation. After a long trip and jet lag it was hard to a) find the hotel b) check-in with ease.
Good location and nice clean room, very helpful staff. Great value for money.
No problems really, but shower rose and taps loose, I tightened myself. No real storage space for clothes if you were staying longer.
Nicely decorated - the little touches make it eg nespresso machine and IPad
Garbage truck outside the window early in the morning
lovely modern rooms
presentation of room was lovely... i enjoyed the stay.. will be back thankyou.. I liked the checkin idea.. just wanted some alone time..
shower wasnt cleaned to my expectations... few hairs on walls..
A good rate at a central location.
Very clean. Owners are lovely. They answered lots of questions for me.
The name is good. I chose the accommodation for my Thanksgiving Day on the name alone. I ended up feeling grateful it was only one night.
It was a bad start when I arrived after a tiring trip, with a poor traveller in the seat behind me being sick, to find I had to lug my heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs. There is no Reception, so you have to ring a number to get the code for your room key. Unfortunately, there was some kind of problem and they didn't answer my calls. There is nowhere to sit while you are waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Eventually I gave up and left my luggage unattended and went for a drink and toilet stop in the bar next door. When I came back and rang again, there was an answer and I got my key finally. The room was a disappointment. It looks lovely, but has been very badly designed for traveller comfort. There is nowhere to sit down except on the huge bed that takes up nearly all the space in the room, and because of the wooden sides of the bed, you get your leg pinched again and again. The bathroom is more like a cupboard than and ensuite, and again the fixtures are too big, so you have to be a contortionist to access the toilet paper, and the sharp edge of the floor tiles cuts into your instep savagely. Interior design should be like any other good design - function before form. The designer of this room needs to stay in it a night and learn something.
Location was fantastic as it is in the centre of Port Douglas and walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops as well as beach and other sites.
Wifi was very slow.
Excellent, very comfy bed, very clean. Great stuff even though there is no reception. We were warmly welcomed by managers and they were helpful with our trips (made a booking for us and provided good tips what to do around). We appreciated the possibility of hiring a bike (for free) to ride around the city.
No place where to sit. It would be great to have some place where you can eat or just drink your coffee - especially outside, it would be awesome.
we loved everything and have stayed here twice
room smelled of body odour a lot.but i opened the windows to try and get rid of the smell.not sure if coming from the furnishings or someone that was in there before us.was a bit overwhelming. oh and need to let you know in your write up on port douglas ,you have "stingray season nov-may",its supposed to say stinger not stingray.(its jellyfish(stingers) not stingrays! different creature).very confusing for visitors.lucky im a local and had a bit of a laugh when i read that.not sure if its just a typing error on your behalf.
Location decor ease of check-in
Lack of storage/ bathroom space..
