The Castle - Villa by the Sea

Great old world charm lots of character not cold & sterile like a lot of the new modern apartments are these days,really a very nice place to stay,an easy stroll to the beach,shops & restaurants,would stay again.

Would need an air-con in the bedroom on very hot days,the ceiling fan would not be enough for us.

We were in a separate apartment from The Castle so we had privacy. The location was fantastic.

As we were sent to a separate apartment we did not get any cleaning services, wi-fi or information about the area. We felt rather isolated and not given the high quality services we thought we were paying for.

Short walk from main beach and town. Slightly quirky accomodation, though very pleasant.

Some use of shared facilities and kitchen.

The location was good for anyone wanting to visit the Small Penguins on Phillip Island.

Expensive for what it was. After meeting the owner at check-in, I didn't see them again. A sign told me where to leave the key in the morning and notes in the room gave advice on where to buy breakfast in the local town.

Perfect location, just a hope, skip and a jump to the sea.

Blinds in the Bedroom let in all the light so could not sleep in

It was not run of the mill everyday, the furniture was opulent and comfortable. Leather lounges and antiques.

the hotel was well run and very clean with everything you wanted. good parking and about 5 mins from the pier. we would certainly book again

There were no Air Conditioners in the rooms.

I loved the look and feel of the place - it had so much character, and yet still felt luxurious - I liked the pink 'castle' facade & gorgeous gardens, and the walls dripping with wonderful artwork inside. Fabulous

The angle of the bed to the TV was a little weird, and I kept hurting my foot on the iron ridge dividing the bathroom from the bedroom. But these were small things and would not put me off staying there again

The location was great

It was extremely dated. The room smelt very musty and the bed sagged completely as you sat on it. The carpet was really dirty. It looked like it had been a luxury place in the 80's but had not been updated at all since. At $530 for the 2 nights we thought this was not good value for money at all. We would not recommend it, nor return there even though the location was good.

Bum steer on wifi being available, had important buisiness to attend to on pc but no wifi available at flat, this should be stated on web page.

Location excellent - peaceful, quiet, close to shops, restaurants, and central to all points of Phillip Island. A most charming Hostess. Generally very comfortable.

Nothing to dislike. However, an upgrade of the TV's would be nice.

Name "theCastle Villa by sea" ???Hallo, it is not a castle, they haveonly four suits (very smal) , the locations is also not by sea. The staff is unprofesional, they even dont ask you about breakfast, we saw them only at arriwal. They charges us completly 5 weeks before arriwal, even that they have in their rools one week. Un serious!

We loved the balconies attached to each room and the communal balcony. It suited us that we had bedooms side by side with a communal sitting area and kitchen facilities.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

Not welcoming at all. Couldn't find reception at first then when I did the door was locked. Owner was on phone, went to another room whilst on phone and made me wait for 5 mins. Not worth $195.

Quite unique, different

Room was slightly small and very mattress was uncomfortable

Helpful staff. Nice to have basic kitchen facilities near the room for use.
