The husband and wife manager/owners were delightful; the port and chocolates were yummy; the charm of the old heritage home was perfect for a stay in Hobart; and it was like an old worldly bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Cottage and we loved it!
Having to leave!
Close to town Hosts incredible Breakfast plentiful, well organised Necessities restocked happily Lounge port supplies delicious ..thank you :-)
Lovely old house with period furnishings, close to regular bus services to city and Glenorchy. Very good breakfast, and very helpful hosts. Liked the port in the lounge.
Our room was close to a busy road junction, but secondary glazing helped to minimise the noise
Location, free parking, breakfast, room set-up. Jeff is very nice and helpful. We quite enjoyed the wine and the fireplace.
1. Our cases carried up the steps for us 2. Meeting fellow guests for coffee, chocolate toffees, port wine, and exchanges of travel experiences 3. The view of the garden from our window 4. The splendid breakfasts provided 5. The welcome advice on local restaurants.
Leaving at the end of the stay!
Very noisey in the morning.
Beatuiful environment，clean Room，good location and very friendly staff of the Hotel. This is a wonderful experience for my husband and I.
The owner, Geff and his were wife were excellent in every way.
1. WiFi only worked within 3 Meters of the reception desk. 2. The noise generated from the wooden floors and thin walls was enough to keep you awake most of the night. 3. Loads of steps. Very difficult to get your bags into the place.
Beautifull building and garden, facilities and location perfect. Perfect!
Extend breakie till 10am!
The service by the Lodge on Elizabeth is exceptional. And the location is very convenient for dinning or most of the tourist attraction. Plus, the heritage house makes you feel like going back in time.
The interior of the room is slightly lack of maintenance.
Excellent service, breakfast outstanding.
Not being able to connect to wi fi, toiletries not replaced.
I do not know if there is anything that can make it any better. Would like to have stayed longer.
The location, the heritage ambience and period furnishings of the Lodge are outstanding, as is the service provided by the proprietors who quite clearly enjoy what they do
The beautiful garden Comfortable Lounge to meet other travellers Complementary port and chocolates First class breakfast
Road noise in number 7
Building was lovely. The owners made us feel like it was our home. The lounge was great and we we're blow to entertain our friends. Loved the Freeport! Made it all like home.
Some stairs to room, but this is a old house. I may have been mistaken but I thought there was some winein the evening. However, no problem.
Friendly and very helpful hosts. Charming old colonial building that has been nicely renovated and maintained. Excellent continental breakfasts with a good variety of fruits, cereals and breads. Very close to a range of restaurants and within walking distance of CBD and waterfront. Free high speed internet.
On street parking spaces were scarce at times although they do provide unlimited parking vouchers for guests. For us it wasn't a problem but it might not be ideal for people that want to use their car frequently during their stay.
Lovely spacious room, nice sitting room and dining area with beautifully presented breakfast buffet (no hot food but adequate for our needs), very friendly, helpful hosts. In North Hobart but less than 10 minutes from wharf area and plenty of restaurants nearby.
Our only problem was that we were on the first floor and the steps are quite steep - a request for a ground floor room would have been wise.
We stayed at Lodge on Elizabeth for 5 nights. As we were arriving into Hobart on the last flight, we had pre-organised our transport to the Lodge, however I asked a few people and a taxi would cost about $60 one way or about $18 for the airport shuttle bus into town (one way). Our private transfer took about 30 minutes to get to Lodge on Elizabeth. Jeff was there to greet us upon arrival and showed us around the main ground floor of the Lodge, and he then took us over to show us around the cottage which we'd booked, he was very welcoming, friendly and warm, which was really nice! - he genuinely cared! The cottage was lovely and Clean, it was also a lovely touch (and surprise) to have complimentary bubbles n' chocolates waiting for us! There's a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need: dish washer, cooker, toaster, kettle, oven, microwave, fridge / freezer etc... The kitchen was restocked everyday with 'goodies' for your breakfast: eggs, bacon, beans / spaghetti, bread, cereal, yogurts, mixed fruit, milk and orange juice, tea / coffee, biscuits and even complimentary port! The bathroom consisted of a spa bath (along with a shower), complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, and ample towels which were replaced daily. The bedroom is upstairs with a lovely comfy double bed, they also supplied the x2 extra pillows that I'd requested. There's a few drawers for storage and a wardrobe, there's also a door that opens out onto a private balcony area, which is prefect to relax on in the evening with a glass of wine! I actually loved the electric blankets, This was a really good surprise! There's also x2 flat screen TV's which loads of English speaking channels, a stereo, a DVD player, and even books / magazines.
There is Wifi at the property, however it's a bit spontaneous on whether it'll work, but this is the only issue I could find, but I wouldn't let it stop you booking though.
friendly and helpful staff, lovely old historic building, great breakfast, and close to a whole range of restaurants. Will definitely be recommending it to others.
Kindness, helpfull, beautifull old style, comfort, excellent breakfast
Friendly helpful hosts. Great location Beautiful breakfast and sitting room.
