The Reef Retreat Palm Cove  

Excellent location close to beach and shops. Clive and the family were very friendly and helped make the stay enjoyable.

Only negative was the attitude of one of the corporate residents. Bit of a grump who obviously didn't want our preschoolers to enjoy themselves.

Excellent management & staff--very helpful.Great,spacious rooms with view of the pool area.Quiet situation.Wonderful BBQ area with extras provided.Reef Retreat is not a luxury resort but is very comfortable & good value for money.

Weather - try to avoid April in Palm Cove

Most fabulous service - Sarah on the reception desk is a delight. Location is also couldn't be better, a beautiful spot right near the beach and all the eating places. The room was minimalistic but comfortable and very clean with everything we needed.

Spacious room with good kitchen facilities; nice pool with spa; bbq, very helpful staff (good recommendation and reservation of reef cruises); daily change of pool towels.

Very dirty room even after the service, dust everywhere; air conditioner right over the bed though the room is spaicous enough to put it somewhere else; tiny wardrobe, not enough facilities to dry wet stuff.

Felt like we staying in a tree top house. Very private. Friendly family owned. Quiet! Near nice outdoor restaurants and shops.

Paid for Internet, but it didn't work that well.

No free internet No service if you have short stay under 5 days, no possibility of room service (you have your own kitchen = cook yourself) Due to "environment protection" they do not do any towel / sheet change for 4 days (received 1 set of towel on request) or if you want a "make up my room" it's against payment only! Protecting environment is OK for me, but cleaning the room of dust/sand/ trash with a broom or redoing the bed does not impact environment for what I know ? I think they just want to save on staff/salary doing minimum service. First time I spend so much money for so little service and I travel all year round

We were a bit disappointed with the superior spa suite, it was not that superior and in terms of size we thought it would be bigger.

we were very happy perfact place to relex in a friendly atmostfere we recomend the place to all our friends.

The location was excellent. The Spa was great, and surroundings so beautiful around the pool which lent itself to enjoying lying on the comfortable lounges to relax and read after a swim or spa. Having our breakfasts out on our balcony among the tropical foliage and birds was delightful.The bathroom and bedroom were a very good size.and clean. We were happy with the way the staff treated us and found our stay very enjoyable. The location was very quiet and peaceful which we liked.

In the one bedroom unit the lounge room was very cramped with only a sofa and no extra chairs.Not enough cupboard space for 2 people. If you have trouble climbing stairs only a ground floor unit would be advisable.

location was brilliant, close to beach , playground, cafes and shops. decor in rooms was tasteful, studio was compact but had everything we needed. very relaxing and restful surroundings. Poolside area was also great. good value

Easy walk to beach from resort, friendly helpful managers, private balcony, well equipted clean BBQ area lovely to have the apartment serviced halfway through stay. Would stay again Lovely touch from Managers who gave us Champagne to celebrate our Ruby anniversary.

It was a very pleasant environment with a lovely jacuzzi, beautiful trees and nice pool.

Friendly, helpful staff- Clive and Mary are just so lovely and easy to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. We also loved the rain forest style setting. It was so relaxing sitting out on our deck having breakfast or a drink at night - our unit even had a name, Flora , which gave an extra sense of personality to our wee home. The kitchen facilities were good to have as well, as we could whip up a meal if we wanted to. The beach was just around the corner, so everything was nice and close, but with the advantage of privacy by not being on the main road.

I really don't have a negative word to say about this place - would totally recommend it to anyone planning to travel to Palm Cove.

Poor access to room. Very poor hot water service

The balcony area overlooking the pool with a well stocked kitchenette was a neat idea. If you wanted to cook, everything you needed was at hand.

The recent wet weather and the room had quite a musty smell. The rooms were not very sound proof and we were next door to a family with a small baby (quite annoying at times)

The bed was amazing and was a very relaxing atmosphere

The smoking from our neighbours drifted into our room and it wasn't pleasant

Location and garden setting.

No availability of 2 bedroom apartment. We felt quite close to neighbours. A little noisy at times.

The room was great, but best of all are the owners Clive and Mary. They are friendly and go above and beyond to make the stay a pleasurable one. We had some bad weather while there and I think that they were more disappointed for us than we were for ourselves!

Das Reef Retreat liegt in einer Nebenstraße der promenade und ist eine wundervolle kleine Anlage. Es gibt einen beheizten (der erste beheizte Pool auf unserer Reise durch Australien), einen Whirlpool und eine große BBQ-Ecke mit Sitzplätzen. Der Pool befindet sich geschützt im Inneren der Anlage.Abends wird der Poolbereich mit einer Laser-Glühwürmchenanimation "beleuchtet". Am besten hat uns die Open-Air-Küche im Spa Apartment gefallen. Die Glastür zum Schlafbereich ließ sich komplett öffnen, so dass der gesamte Wohnbereich sehr großzügig wird.Die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr schön Am Strand ist man zu Fuss in 2 Minuten. Es gibt 2 kleine Supermärkte im Ort, es lohnt sich jedoch 20 Minuten in Richtung Cains zu fahren, dort kann man günstiger einkaufen.Restaurants gibt es in Palm Cove sehr viele.Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Palm Cove ist ein idealer Ort um zu entspannen und die Lage ist optimal, um Ausflüge zum Cape Tribulation oder auch nach Cairns zu machen. Es war herrlich! Thank you for your excellent Service. We loved to stay at Reef Retreat Palm Cove and also the Firefly-Animation!
