The room was great, but best of all are the owners Clive and Mary. They are friendly and go above and beyond to make the stay a pleasurable one. We had some bad weather while there and I think that they were more disappointed for us than we were for ourselves!

This was a lovely place to stay for 4 nights. Only a short walk from the seafront with plenty bars/restaurants the accommodation was of a very high standard. The room was all in one, no separate bedroom, but plenty space. The bathroom had both shower and spa bath. What made this different was that the kitchen area was on the large balcony with comfortable seating. Reception staff were excellent and gave us a few ideas and answered our questions. Palm Cove is well situated and made a great base for our trips to Kouranda, Daintree Forrest and into Cairns itself. If you are driving from the south come via the Atherton Tablelands if time permits, it's lovely. The Reef Retreat was by no means cheap but was the worth the extra, we would certainly return.

Nothing negative to say about the Reef Retreat, we loved it.

The setting was private and protected from wind,beautiful trees with a real Queenslander feel to it. Friendly management with a family run,caring attitude. The room was very clean and good standard, bringing the outdoors inside by incorporating balcony as part of the room! We felt an excellent upper mid range hotel and would stay again & recommend to others.

The only problem was a guest staying in room below ours was a smoker and therefore smoke wafted up to our balcony each time they smoked which affected us sitting out on ours - but I do need to note I am fairly sensitive to smoke and dislike it around me. Short of management having no smoking signs on their room balconies not much you can do about it.

Ideal location and fantastic rainforest-like gardens. Balinese style architecture and beautiful pool/spa area. It's like an oasis but just a few steps to restaurants and the beach. This with very friendly and helpful hosts make the Reef Retreat a real gem. We will definately return.

The outdoor kitchenette on the balcony was great. Lovely spot to sit and enjoy breakfast or an afternoon cheese platter which we did alot. Very romantic.

It's very cosy, has lots of room, is nicely decorated & perfectly located (close to everything and yet quiet), ... practical, nice, spacious, light.

Visually lush and beautiful surrounds.attractive design of whole resort.walking distance to heart of Palm Cove.Very relaxed atmosphere and nice decor in room.Reception staff excellent, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

This is our third stay at the Reaf Retreat and we have enjoyed them all and hope to visit again in the future. I would recommend this hotel as the most peaceful and relaxing hotel on the East Coast. See you next time. Richard Lavender

You dont visit three times if there are faults

Nous avons logé dans un appartement situé dans la "townhouse", annexe qui se trouve juste en face de l'hôtel et dont les appartements sont équipés d'une cuisine, d'un lave linge, d'un sèche linge et de tout le confort nécessaire pour être autonome tout en bénéficiant des services de l'hôtel et de la magnifique piscine. L'hôtel est situé quasiment sur le front de mer et il y a des petits commerces à proximité, ainsi que d'excellents restaurants.

Le seul "reproche" que l'on pourrait faire concerne le bruit dû à la proximité immédiate de la résidence d'à côté. En effet, les terrasses sont situées face à face et si les voisins ont décidé de faire la fête, on en profite toute la nuit ! Mais ce problème ne concerne que les appartements (townhouse) et pas l'hôtel à priori.

I really like the staffs there. They are so helpful and pleasant. The set up at Reef Retreat Palm Cove is very nice and convenient. The small vacation town is very quiet and lovely. I highly recommend this place for anyone for vacation at Cairns.
