This is our third stay at the Reaf Retreat and we have enjoyed them all and hope to visit again in the future. I would recommend this hotel as the most peaceful and relaxing hotel on the East Coast. See you next time. Richard Lavender

You dont visit three times if there are faults

Location was excellent...also very quiet while just one block off the main road along the beach; free parking and nice in room jacuzzi tub. Kitchen has basic amenities (microwave, small refrigerator). Bbq area/deck and pool was nice lots of shade from palms.

The location was perfect not too far from the airport especially as we only had a short stay there. The owner was very helpful in all aspects of our stay, gave us good impartial information on trips, never felt we were pushed into one trip or another. Nothing was too much trouble. The accomodation was fantastic everything we hoped for, and would certainly recommend.

The setting was private and protected from wind,beautiful trees with a real Queenslander feel to it. Friendly management with a family run,caring attitude. The room was very clean and good standard, bringing the outdoors inside by incorporating balcony as part of the room! We felt an excellent upper mid range hotel and would stay again & recommend to others.

The only problem was a guest staying in room below ours was a smoker and therefore smoke wafted up to our balcony each time they smoked which affected us sitting out on ours - but I do need to note I am fairly sensitive to smoke and dislike it around me. Short of management having no smoking signs on their room balconies not much you can do about it.

I really like the staffs there. They are so helpful and pleasant. The set up at Reef Retreat Palm Cove is very nice and convenient. The small vacation town is very quiet and lovely. I highly recommend this place for anyone for vacation at Cairns.

We most liked the quiet and relaxed either by the pool, in our room and on the beach not far from our accommodation. The tropical setting was also a bonus.

It's location allowed us to enjoy the beach as well as poolside areas, everything was within easy walking distance. The kitchenette design was practical allowing for meal preparation with plenty of tools. We spent a lot of our time relaxing on the patio/kitchenette area with meals/drinks etc.We could readily adjust the level of privacy we wanted.Undercover car parking is always a bonus. We have already recommended The Reef Retreat Palm Cove to friends.We plan to return.

The only thing of ours we used you didn't have were the salad servers!!!! Hard people to please eh!!!!!!!!

I liked the tropical design of the hotel. The rooms were furnsihed in a contemporay yet relaxed manner with a tropical theme. Timber ventiains and slats added to the privacy and ambiance of the venue. Provate balcony overlooked the secluded pool and just a minute's walk to the beach and esplanade featuring great dining and shopping. I will definately be back to this resort and bring my husband this time!

The shower in my room was a bit hit and miss. The hot water wasn't very hot...but then again I'm from cold old Melbourne! I guess it was measured for the temperature of the region.

Price, location

Pool is shaded - never any sun no matter what time of the day! Cannot enjoy the sun!

The location was perfect: right on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The resort was quiet and shady with plenty of space to sit and eat out. Nice little kitchen and bathroom witha great shower and spa bath.

I was surprised to have to pay for the laundry facilities; this wasn't the case in the two previous places I'd stayed in up the coast. No airer or clothes-horse was provided, so there was no choice but to stump up for the drier. Not very eco-friendly :-(

Reasonably close to restaurants and beach

Ground floor unit, but had to climb steps to go up to a landing leading no where, and then down to the unit. Kitchenette was in an open area which was not too much of a problem in winter but could be in summer with mosquitoes. Louvre windows were not screened either. Noisy sprinkler system came on a 12pm each night waking me up with a jolt. One cake of soap was in the bathroom for 2 people for 2 nights, no teatowel or washing up cloth of any sort. Car park was too far from unit which would be unpleasant in rain.
