nice furnishings in room
wi-fi did not work after first day; was put in a room with a view of the driveway of the hotel across the road; as i was only on the second floor, so i could maintain privacy/dignity, i had to keep the roller blinds closed continually!
Easy, comfortable, friendly, value
Getting a little tired - will need reno sooner or later - some might say soon...
- location at the harbour was nice - pool and gym was good - wifi was included
- fee for parking
Smell of the room when first walked in, ?Another deodoriser
Pool, sauna, gym, location
Stinky garbage smell, garbage room, not good idea in tropics. 1 bd apt- no bathtub, funky smell in room, room is too minimalist, very uncomfortable; big room with table + small uncomfortable couch + one chair. No wall photos or pictures or any color. We were excited to finally stay @ HL hotel & now would not recommend it to friends, except for location is good.
Close to the casino and other entertainment
Good location, close to restaurants
The look of the building. All those metal bars around the inner courtyard. No tropical atmosphere. concrete passages to the rooms. A very cold atmosphere for the tropics. The parking area was tight and full when we returned we had paid extra for the parking convenience and had to go back and enquire and were asked to park outside the front entrance. The bed and pillows were very hard and we did not sleep well.
Everything, specially location. Direct on the water, mountain view.... Great steaks at Waterbar ( just ca 300 m walk -I think you can skip "Dundee's).
mold in the shower, but honestly - I haven't see many hotels without it...
No parking Room looked like a dorm not a hotel Staff chew gum
Location and quality of the rooms. Excellent views
Early morning receptionist was hard to understand and her English was limited
Location, views and friendly/helpful staff.
Carparking. Very limited parking available and tight spaces.
Staff were friendly, room was very nice with great views.
The car parking was terrible. I was driving a medium sized car and struggled to get in and out of the parking bays.
Staff friendly, quite place to stay nicely decorated liked the faucet control was not under the shower
The lift was hard to use no car park , no tea in the room but was quickly fixed I
Some staff were nice and helpful. Room was a good soze
One staff told me there wasn't a bike rack for my bike and then there turns out near the skip bin happens to be a bike rack. Annoying. Plus room cleaning was mixed up all the time no definately hour window of when it was going to be do ne
Right on the harbour front
Special thanks to Dionne for an early check-in after arriving 08:00 in the morning from Perth. All we wanted to do is leave our baggage to go on a day trip, she offered an upgraded accommodation with great view and early check-in and this made it very comfortable for us to freshen up. Thank you Dionne.
the central location. the view.
no breakfast. paying for parking.
The musty damp smell in the room and dirty marks on the walls
The location was very convenient, near the esplanade, casino, shops etc. Very pretty outlook over Trinity Inlet. Very reasonably priced compared with the neighbouring hotels. Rooms serviced daily which is rare for apartment style properties and the bathroom products they supply are the best I have ever tried at a hotel. Very nice man at reception who definitely gave honest and informative advice about Cairns. This is my second visit to Harbour Lights - my room was a lot smaller this time and felt more sterile, however overall it was comfortable and fairly modern.
It doesn't have that luxurious hotel feeling that you get at other places - it is a shared residential building and you share the pool etc. with people who live in the building. No restaurant directly on site associated with the property so we had to get breakfast at the neighbouring Hilton which was very good.
Efficient, polite, obliging staff - reception, housekeeping. Great location - convenient to the vibrant esplanade & city centre.
Having to pay for parking.
Check in was quick and efficient, staff were friendly and helpful. We were even upgraded to a one bedroom apartment. Room facilities were excellent, comfortable bed, great view of the inlet. Lots of restaurants nearby, and the city center was only a few minutes walk. Overall, we had a very good experience staying at the hotel - highly recommended.
Everything from entering the doors to when we left, very welcoming. Thank you habourlights cairns!
Unit large. Good Pool . Lovely vies over the water. Terrific Location close to everything.
The air condition cutting out every 3-4 hours & having to turn in off for a period of time & then back on.
Apartment is well stocked with modern utensils and cutlery. Location is very close to the Esplanade and shopping
Apartment was advertised as having a harbour view however ours was more Estuary view but still OK. Check in process was lacking warmth and friendliness.
