All the staff were wonderfull. We upgraded our room & ther manner in which it was manged was excellent. Front desk staff were always warm, friendly and helpful. I would give all staff (not just front desk) 5 Stars. The way we were treated was MUCH appreciated.

Proximity to beaches and restaurants. Availability of good espresso coffee at breakfast in the Bistro at no extra cost.

The "Pork Belly" in the Bistro. It is one of my favourite meals in restaurants and I have also cooked it often, but never have I been faced with a portion with almost 2 cm of pure fat on top of only .5 cm of edible meat. The crackling though, was cooked to perfection.

The location and its access to Newcastle Beach and the harbour environs

The fact that our first room's hand basin did not drain. The manager (James Clark) dealt with the problem promptly and relocated us to a better room.

It was great that we were so close to the beach. Easy to get around and central to lots of places.Staff were all very helpful.

Location was great, close to Newcastle beach and close to Newcastle East shops. If you have business in Newcastle cbd its the best place to stay.

Everything had a cost associated. The room was littered with products all with prices attached. Also on checkout we were informed that there was 1.75% credit card charge. When questioned, we were advised by staff, its your choice to pay by credit card. When your bill is over $1000 I don't understand where the choice is, who carries this amount of cash?... Also room wasn't cleaned until mid afternoon so if you wanted to relax in your room mid afternoon, you missed cleaning. When cleaning was done, no vacuum and only re-make bed and replenish bathroom supplies

More STERILE than usual for these hotels exacerbated by minimalist decor awfully uncomfortable lounge chair in room limited space in bedroom construction noise from building next door locked cupboard (why neccessary??) under vanity limited shelf space in a minimalist bathroom

Beautiful rooms, really comfortable beds. Fabulous staff and great food!! Caters for gluten free.

Nothing ! Soya milk or lactose free would have made it perfect.

I would have liked an earlier breakfast as I had to return to Sydney - I know that I could have had room service but I prefer to go to a restaurant than eat in my room. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay - I walked along the Nobby's breakwater - an added bonus!.

The rooms are always spacious and clean, the hotel is close to everything, beach, shopping, movies, restaurants, day spas. And the price is excellant. We always choose Sebel (now Novotel) I wouldnt want to stay anywhere else. The staff are great and always willing to lend a hand.

My stay was comfortable but the design of the room is not very woman friendly as the bathroom does not have sufficient shelf space for toiletries nor hairdrying convenience. I would prefer facilities outside bathroom with mirror and seat for comfort to get ready. Also felt the gap of the two mattreses which made it somewhat uncomfortable at times.

Location,location,location.having a room that faced the ocean we slept each night to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.wonderful.

For the dollar spent I really did expect that the sheets on the bed would have been changed every day, but alas over a four day stay the bed was only made up after each nights sleep,disappointing to say the least.
