Pleasant staff. Proximity to the city, the botanical gardens and walking distance to Southbank. The hotel is "tired". The studio room was spacious enough, but the bathroom drain stank, the carpet was dirty and there was no soap, although there was shampoo and conditioner.

Centrally located, friendly staff My room was not cleaned on the first day. When I asked for it to be cleaned a man came u, changed the towels and left. There was often garbage collected on floor 13 that wasn't cleaned. The pool was freezing.

A great location - a block away from the cbd mall in the middle of interesting shops and restaurants To be told on checkout that I would be charged 1.95% extra when I paid on credit. Not a lot of money but it left a bad taste in my mouth that they weren't up front with this. The girl at checkout seemed embarrassed about this too. How else do they expect you to pay? It wasn't as if it's a budget price! Small things lacked attention too: I came in early and left my luggage and car. The desk said I didn't need to ask for my luggage on check in as it would have been taken to my room. It wasn't so I had to ring and then wait for it to come up. There appeared to be no cups in the cupboard so I rang down to ask for some (dying for a cuppa). Waited ages, and had to ring twice then the housekeeper came to my room to point out that they were kept in a lower cupboard next to the washing machine that didn't even look like it was a cupboard (no handle, a corner door) and reception never tell people this. She was a bit snippy - if this regularly happens why on earth don't they just bring them up to the cupboard with the glasses and other things?? Small annoyances but when you pay top dollar you expect things to go smoothly. Despite these, it's still a good spot and I would recommend it but a pity there are stings in the tail.

great staff, very helpful and friendly. The pool is not heated and there is no spa. Getting into the actual building was very difficult due to road blockages, this was quite distressing for me (from the country and have enough trouble negotiating my way through city without finding the only access cut off!). However was solved by ringing hotel and a staff member guided me through the alternate access. This solved the problem, but a warning text or email regarding the route changes would have been helpful.

Easy parking and access. Modern clean facilities. Great views from high levels. Easy going, relaxed and easy to move around in. Car parking spaces are very tiny - we had trouble getting a Captiva in there, let alone the poor bloke we watched getting his Patrol in a spot.
