The location centre of town and the large double bed were fantastic. The country pub atmosphere inviting. Great towels supplied.
Shared toilet and shower facilities were only in fair condition, in need of an upgrade. ( were clean) Insufficient for number of rooms.
Convenience, clean & comfortable. Perhaps having a list of the cafes who serve breakfast in each room or given to customers might be an idea and would be helpful in the mornings.
That air freshener thing hanging in the wardrobe, the chemical smell of them turns my stomach. Use a natural freshener if you need to use one at all.
central to main township
no ensuit or tv within room. costly for just a bed in a room.
Bathroom was in need of a makeover!
Bed was great the room size was good. The facilities were very clean and there was plenty of hot water.
Paying $100.00 for the night when the toliet and sower facilities were down the hall was too much. $80.00 would have been more reasonable as the was also no WIFI.
Clean, comfortable beds
The bathrooms are waiting to be renovated. General cleanliness was poor but the level of dust may be because of the renovations occurring. No facilities to access upper floor for a guest with poor mobility.
The evening meal and service was good but we had to go elsewhere for good coffee and desert
The room was at the front over the bar and street it was very noisy till midnight . The bathrooms were unclean and old the shower on the bath was rusty.
The bed was comfortable and new. The towels were huge thick bath towels.
The ceilings were old and held the mouldy musty you get in old buildings. Not good if you have a bad chest. The meals in the resturant were to die for, we sat and watched meal after huge meal come out, but for some unknown reason my husbands was the size of a kids meal, A HUGE LET DOWN
Price and central location.
It's a building site!
How old fashioned it was - felt like I was in a Phriony Fischer story! Comfortable bed. No TV, no bedside light.
Bathroom facilities were so ancient that it would be impossible to keep them really clean.
The location was excellent and the town was just lovely. The service was great and the room was good value for money.
The Shamrock is good value for money. I took advantage of the tasty special of $17.50 chicken parma and pot. The room was clean, the sheets white and crisp, a bath mat and towel plus a heater was provided.
Like most hotels of the era, this one is undergoing extension and renovation. However, this did not detract from the hospitality I received.
Clean comfy bed, friendly country pub atmosphere, good meals, very well priced
Shared washrooms, no tv, major renovations happening at the time I was there. sept 2014
Number and condition of the shower toilets
Very friendly staff. Great bed linens and room. Great location. Fantastic bistro. Hotel is being refurbished as we speak and should be wonderful when finished. Try the in house bistro...really nice food, great variety and great prices.
$100 is a little expensive...maybe $80 would be better value. Little heater does not warm room enough for cold nites...freezing...tho manager did warn us to start it early Women's toilet and shower need a little work. Maybe bread, jams and toaster added to tea and coffee stand ...maybe an area to watch TV
Friendly, helpful staff. Character of the building. Central location.
Wind blowing the outside doors open at night. No heat in the room until asked for. Only lukewarm water in the unheated bathroom.
Having to go down the corridor to bathroom and toilet. I wondered how fresh the food was - lambshanks one night and curry the other. It felt likethe food had been prepared for a while and just reheated, not fresh in the last day or two.
Maybe a small tv in room, other wise it was fair for the night
Great atmosphere had a great night with the band and loved the open fire the staff where really friendly
The bathroom was very old needs updating and it could have been cleaner bathroom and bedroom
Hospitality and food
Liked the central location the staff were very friendly and the fact we had the whole place to ourselves was a real bonus!!
The shared bathroom facilities could be a little better meaning possibly in need of a bit of an update otherwise not much to complain about.
Cost too much for what it was. Bathroom and toilet were dirty when we arrived. No cleaner to be seen all weekend and the hotel was fully booked sat night. Rubbish still in bins on mon that had been there since Friday. No water in urn and milk long out of date in tea and coffee hub. Hole in ceiling and paint peeling in the room we stayed in. No heating or cooling. Won't be recommending this place to anyone anytime soon.
Cost too much for what it was. No cleaning done in communal bathrooms whole time we were there. Milk was off. Dirty glasses. No water in the urn. Peeling paint and hole in the ceiling. Inadequate heating no cooling. No general cleaning at all. Will NOT be staying there again or recommending to anyone. Not worth anymore than $60 per night the way it is at present
Staff were wonderful. Other guests were great. I had everything I needed for my purpose at a great price.
Worth a stay in view of the bar staff alone!!
