Nice, clean, good location to easy go everywhere.

Minibar would have been nice

I found the location excellent. Very central for us for anzac Day activities - March and Football. The staff were friendly and helpful. We especially liked the impromptu piano singalong in the lounge outside the bar - lovely end to our day' and very talented elderly pianist. The room temperature was perfect for us - neither too hot or too cold. At the end of pushing a wheelchair on anzac day the spa,plungepool and sauna were lifesaving.

Bar was a little understaffed on anzac day eve. Workload seemed unfairly split. Perhaps there were English language problems?

As soon as my booking was confirmed, the hotel took the payment from my account. I have booked other hotels through this site, and this has never been done before ( even a London hotel did not do this ). I asked reception if they would print a boarding pass for us when we were leaving, they said three dollars please and print it yourself in the internet cafe, ( other hotels have always done it for me ) Room was small, but we did not spend much time in the room anyway,other than sleeping.

Good hotel, centrally located, reliable service - I arrived early and they let me check in early.

The location was the best about the Victoria Hotel for shopping, China Town, Theatres, site seeing hidden cafes down little allyways. 10 min walk from Flinders train station, Federation Square and 10 mins from Central Train Station & Shopping Mall. The hotel is being refurbished we stayed in the East wing so our room was refurbished to a good standard with tea & coffee and small fridge. The gym, spar and sauna on the 6th floor are very good the pool far to small. There is a large bar area so nice to relax before or after dinner. They do have large lockers $6aus for 6hrs that you can leave your bags in so you can spend another day in Melbourne.

The only down side was some of the staff on reception when we arrived, we had to wait at empty reception desk for about 10mins before we were seen to even though they new we were there and it was not what I would call a friendly welcome more like do I have to check you in, which we found poor. We booked bed & breakfast but when we went to breakfast on the first morning we were told we had to pay for it, while I sorted it out with reception my wife was told she could not go into breakfast untill it was sorted. This took over 15mins then a phone call to the restaurant was made and what a difference it made to the staff but we were now running late as breakfast finished at 10am on the dot.

It's pretty old and rooms are small. But it's comfy and well located to everything

The staff, room location, presentation and reception all excellent along with cleanliness and provisions in room. Excellent service by porter who tuned in the TV for us. Bed very comfortable especially as we were so tired having been at the tennis all day and catching the early train from Shepparton. Thanks

We have put in our opinion on the restaurant "service" on the form which we left with reception. Have not heard as yet what, if anything, has been done re our comments

Close to centre of city at a reasonable price. Reasonable breakfast choice and quality. Reception staff wery helpful and friendly.

Many rooms are a bit small. Central aircon is too loud in east wing. Maintenance did not respond to noisy door closer outside our bedroom which clanked all night.

It was very centrally located; easy to find and easy to get to where we wanted to go - either walking or trams. Breakfast was included which had a good selection of alternatives. The room was on the smallish side but comfortable - good clean bathroom, quiet (no noise from the street was noticable). Good value for money.
